Pros: Pretty dress, just like Barbie's, good for imaginations.
Cons: A little still, can't be washed, need to be very careful with it.
I purchased the Barbie as the Princess & The Pauper Erika Dress Up Costume in size 4t for my daughter. I got it at Walmart Department store here in Rhode Island. I paid only $16.99 for it.
Barbie has always gone over big with my daughter, and The Princess and the Pauper was her favorite of all the Barbie movies. Erica being her favorite princess of all. So this dress was great for her and she was very pleased to get it.
The Barbie as the Princess & The Pauper Erika Dress Up Costume is light blue in color and has pink trim and lining. Mostly a silky feel, some ruffle too. But a few parts on the out side can be a little hard/stiff.
Keep in mind when making this purchase that the dress up costume is not washable. It you spot wash it you will see fading. That has already happened with my daughter's because she spilled a little bit of juice on it. Machine washing it will lead to shrinking, or the costume falling apart. It was made to be a costume not clothing.
Unfortunately this means that the Barbie as the Princess & The Pauper Erika Dress Up Costume will not last long if worn while eating or during too rough of play. But if just worn for Halloween or as play dress up it should keep nicely.
My daughter wears her Barbie as the Princess & The Pauper Erika Dress Up Costume a lot. She wears it for dress up at least 3 or 4 times every week. It is a lot of fun for her and she makes me call her Erica while she is wearing it. She gets a big kick out of it.
I have seen the Barbie as the Princess & The Pauper Erika Dress Up Costume in several different sizes. 4t,5t, size 2 girl's, size 4 and more. Making it easy if you have two girl's of different ages, to get them each one.
All in all the dress is a great buy for a little girl. It is great for the imagination. However it must be taken care of well. Not washed, and kept as clean as your child can, or you will find yourself buying another one rather quickly.
Also you should not fold or wrinkle the dress because it will hold the wrinkled shape and it obviously can not be ironed. The best way is to just keep in hung in a closet in your child's bedroom, where it won't get ruined.
I do very highly recommend the Barbie as the Princess & The Pauper Erika Dress Up Costume.
