Searching for an oil-absorbing product that will leave skin natural looking with a matte finish? The search is over Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil is here to save the day!
The Product
Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil comes in a squat pot that has a black lid. The pot is clear and the black lid is easily removed by unscrewing it off. Inside, there is a sifter that separates small portions of the powder from the rest. The pot is identical to that of the bareMinerals Foundation. The 0.47 oz (13.5 grams) of powder costs $19 and is available at Bare Escentuals boutiques, Sephora, and QVC.

My Experience
Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil is awesome!
The Mineral Veil goes on translucent, though the color of the powder in the pot has a very light beige color. I apply the Mineral Veil after applying the bareMinerals Foundation. I unscrew the cap and use the amount of Mineral Veil that has clung to the lid. (If there is not enough, I will tap just a tad bit of Mineral Veil onto the inverted lid.) I swirl my Bare Escentuals Flawless Face brush in the inverted lid that has a bit of powder and "buff" it onto my face, concentrating on my T-zone.
The Mineral Veil looks very natural; it adds a bit of matte-ness to my appearance. My face looks sheer and matte. No oiliness or excess shine, which is awesome. My face tends to be oily though not as oily as it used to be in my younger years and I find that the Mineral Veil helps to keep my T-zone oil free longer compared to going without it. There is minimal shine on my face when using the Mineral Veil; I usually do a touch up after about five hours or so during the work day.
I have tried wearing the Mineral Veil without the bareMinerals Foundation. I find that when it is worn alone, it continues to do a fabulous job absorbing excess oil and giving my face a matte appearance. However, due to my natural, uneven, blotchy red skin tone, I usually do not go without the foundation. The Mineral Veil also does a great job minimizing pores. I tend to have large pores on my cheeks and nose and have noticed that the coverage of the Mineral Veil does minimize to appearance of my pores (especially the ones on my cheeks, not so much on the nose pores).
Though I love the Mineral Veil, I am always a bit cautious when opening the pot because I am afraid of accidentally knocking over the pot and spilling the precious loose powder. I did read a good suggestion somewhere regarding dispensing the powder: Remove only half of the adhesive that covers the sifter. That way, powder can still be sifted out but not in large quantities.
Overall Thoughts
Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil is an excellent product that will provide hours and hours of matte, oil-free look. Zap oily skin with Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil!
