Pros:All natural; sheer coverage; beautiful; great for problematic skin
Cons:Most folks will have to order by phone or online.
The Bottom Line: If you love a naturally, glowing look, try bareMinerals Warmth!
While flipping channels, I just happened across a bareMinerals infomercial. According to what I was watching, here was a make-up made of 100% all natural minerals. The funny thing is I happened to be in Vegas at this time and my skin was having terrible breakouts due to sensitivity to the smoke-filled casinos. I had just been thinking when I got home Id have to give up make-up for a while and heal my skin.
So heres an answer too-good-to-be-true right in front of me. Like manna from infomercial-heaven. I vowed to look into this further when I got home.
I did. I checked out the bareMinerals web site and consumer reviews. From what I gathered there wasnt much to loose from trying the product. So I went back to their site and ordered. The offer on their site was exactly what Id seen on TV. This made me happy, and I found the offer reasonable, so I ordered. The Special Offer package not only included foundation, but a wonderful complexion-enhancer called Warmth.
What you get
bareMinerals describes Warmth as an all-over face color
Theyre year-round complexion boosters that infuse color into your skin so it looks as if its coming from within. Radiate a naturally healthy glow on your face with Warmth. This universal bareMinerals shade gives you that sun-kissed look without the harmful sun exposure. Brush on Warmth where the sun would naturally fall on your cheeks, forehead, chin and nose. You can also use Warmth as an eyeshadow or mix it with your bareMinerals Foundation to warm up your existing shade.
Warmth is a great toasty, coppery, brown. And it really does look natural when applied. You would have to try really hard to get this to look bad on you.
Like most of the bareMinerals make-up, Warmth comes as a powder. A little of this product goes a l-o-n-g way. Not only does a small amount do the job as a blush or bronzer, it has endless other uses as well.
Since mine came as part of the Special Offer, I also received a video explaining how to use many of the bareMinerals products. The video showed that you can use a liner brush, wet the tip, dip it in Warmth and it makes great eyeliner. Im thinking it would probably make a nice lip liner in the same way. It can also be used as an eyeshadow, and mixed with bareMinerals foundation to enhance tones that may change throughout the year. You can even dip the tip of your lipstick in it, tap off excess, and get a great, new lip color.
Warmth .06oz came as part of my Special Offer package. A .10oz jar normally retails for $20.00 on their website.
Brief Word on the bareMinerals Web Site
I live in the Mid-Atlantic region and there are no i.d bare Escentuals stores near me. But the website is great. The bareMinerals site is Easy-to-use: Easy ordering; Confirmation e-mail; Shipping Notice. My order came within a week.
Do i.d. bareMinerals Claims Stand Up?
As stated on the bareMinerals web site, they claim:
bareMinerals are made from 100% pure, micronized minerals that are free of preservatives, oil, fragrance, talc and other potential irritants
Its makeup so pure you can sleep in it.
I wanted something all-natural to help heal my skin. Im honestly getting tired of putting more and more chemicals on my face that stop working after a couple months. But I also know that just because something is natural doesnt mean its not irritating or harmful. After reading reviews on bareMinerals, however, I was pretty confident I wouldnt have a reaction or anything. Also, the offer had a 60-day Money Back Guarantee. So there wasnt much risk involved.
Not only was I extremely please with the results of Warmth on top of the bareMinerals foundation, I decided to really put it to the test over the next couple days. First of all, YES I slept in it. The blemishes on my cheeks which come and go would be a great marker for the irritability of bareMinerals. I have to report that not only did sleeping in bareMinerals not cause problems, my skin didnt even feel oily when I got up. Pretty amazing. Oh, and I didnt see any make-up on the ivory pillowcase either.
The Low-Down on Warmth
Im in love with the bareMinerals line, especially Warmth. Warmth works great with my problematic skin, and gives my skin that extra healthy glow after coverage foundation.
*** As with all my reviews, this is a Cruelty Free product from a maker that does NOT use animal testing according to PETA.
