jessicamc4's Full Review: Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Liner Shadow
Wow, I just jumped on the bare minerals bandwagon about a year ago!! Let me tell you, I just thought it was face powders and such. No, there is all kinds of eye colors, lip glosses, and so much more. I loved the foundation (and the kabuki brush!) so much when I first tried it, I wanted to try everything this line had to offer.
I ordered the Retro Lounge eye kit from QVC last October. It included a .01 oz. pot of the liner shadow. That didn't sound like much at all! Why am I spending $25 on this little pot of colored powder? Ok, it came with a slanted liner brush as well. And I have spent that much for just a brush before. I just went for it, and I am fully confident that I made a great purchase.
It may not seem like much liner shadow, but I have had mine nearly a year and it doesn't even look like I have ever used any!!! As Lisa Robertson on QVC says "it's a lifetime supply" and that's not far from the truth. This little pot could easily last me another 2 or 3 years or more!!
You will need to practice applying. You can use these wet or dry and I have found that it is easier to use wet when you are first learning to apply it. Also if you use too much or don't "swirl, tap, and buff" you'll end up with black specks and smudges on your cheeks when the excess falls off the brush as you apply.
You must also have a good eyeliner brush. Those teeny tiny ones with about 3 or 4 bristles at the end won't work!!! The slant liner brush that came with my liner shadow is fabulous and you can buy it separately if you need one.
Anyways, just swirl a teensy amount around in the lid and tap off the excess. I personally start with my upper lids and line all the way across and then whatever is left on the brush use on my lower lid. Sometimes I'll take a little more liner and make the outside corner darker for a sexy look.
Sometimes I got so frustrated with this liner because it took precision and carefulness to apply and I didn't think it was worth it. So, I would use a simple eye liner pencil because it was much quicker and easier. I was never as happy with the results as I was when I used the BE liner shadow.
You can purchase this is many shades. They can be ordered from the Bare Escentuals website or from QVC.
Use dry as a soft shadow or apply to the base of eyelashes w/moistened brush. To use shake closed jar then swirl brush inside lid to pick up color. Ma...More at QVC
