I’ve liked everything Bare Escentuals I’ve ever tried. But it took me a while to try their most popular product and that is the bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation. I got the Getting Stared kit in May for my Birthday, and have not used other makeup since.
Bare Escentuals bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation is pure natural makeup that contains no artificial ingredients. I’ve seen the infomercials many times on TV; and I knew how this make up would work even before I had it. Everything Leslie Blodgett says about it works. I got a little Bare Escentuals makeover/demonstration at Sephora, before receiving my own. So I was prepared and ready to start using my own.
Bare Escentuals bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation comes in a plastic jar holding 0.30 ounces of product, but when you receive it in a kit as I received mine, you will only get 0.06 ounces, but two jars in two shades that are best for your skin tone. The jars feature a sifter set right in the middle and black screw on lids.
Included in my kit I also received three brushes, without these brushes I wouldn’t really care for this makeup as much as I do. The three brushes are: the Flawless Application Brush, the Full Coverage Kabuki Brush and the Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush.
After cleansing my face, I first apply the bareVitamins Skin Rev-er Upper over my whole face, then I apply another moisturizer since that’s not very moisturizing alone. Then using the amazing Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush I apply the bareMinerals.
I have two shades of the foundation: Medium and Medium Beige, Medium Beige is slightly lighter, the two shades can be used individually or together to create the perfect shade. But I’ve only been using Medium because I’ve been pretty tan this summer, so this shade alone works for me.
The way I use it is the way I was instructed in the directions. I get a very little bit of the powder on the lid, and using my Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush I apply it over areas that need cover up. Such as under the eyes, on the chin, or any blemishes I may have. I love this brush, its like different kind of makeup because of the wonderful brush. It applies so smoothly and precisely. I cannot get over it. But I should review it separately.
Then for the whole face coverage, using my Flawless Application Brush, I again dip it into the lid, and tap off the excess, then in circular motions apply it all over my face. This powder is lightweight and very smooth. It leaves my face silky and smooth. The coverage is buildable, for me it’s usually light. It doesn’t clog my pores and contains SPF 15, which is so great.
I realize there are already over 100 reviews for this stuff, but I just had to add my two pennies.
Bare Escentuals bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation has most defiantly not irritated my skin in any way, there is nothing in it that could irritate it. I follow up with Warmth, Blush and Mineral Veil to complete the flawless look.
If you like me have taken a few years to try this makeup, I suggest you get it immediately.
No reapplication is necessary throughout the day. This is concelaer and Foundation in one. It also removes with no problem, but I’ll admit I’ve gone to bed with it on more then once and my face was fine the following morning.
