I've gone to the North Berkeley one several times, and while it's not the best service, it certainly is at least average and not particularly frustrating. And I think the fries are worth it...especially if you're also getting the Western Burger (BBQ sauce, bacon, cheddar cheese) or the one with bacon, avocado, grilled onions, and cheese....YUM!

There's nothing worse than bad service, esp. when you feel obligated to put up with it to get those curly fries.
So the next time you're in Oakland, check out Barney's on College (Rockridge area). I usually get take-out, so I can't really comment on the dining service, but the people have always been really friendly.
