| tiffer0220's Full Review: Basic Fun Bop It Keychain |
Sometime ago, I acquired a miniature version of the original Bop It game. This miniature version is known as the Bop It Keychain. Not only was I excited about this version because I have a bad habit of collecting keychains, but I loved the fact that I would be able to steal it back from my kids and attach to my keychain and be able to give in to the addiction of trying to out smart the little guy inside the game while sitting in traffic or just doing whatever.
Good things do come in smaller packages
The Bop It Keychain measures about 5 inches long and about an inch and a half wide. It looks exactly like the original Bop It game, even the colors are exactly the same. The same voice telling you what to bop, twist or pull is there and that same annoying scream is there for when you mess up.
For those who have never seen the bop it game or for those who have never played it, it's rather simple. The game is a test of speed and a test of how sharp your reflexes are. On the bop it keychain there is a yellow cork screw shape at one end that is to be twisted, a blue knob at the other end that is to be pulled and a purple drum in the middle that is to be bopped when instructed to do so. As you follow each command and do it correctly, the pace of the game gets faster and faster. When you finally mess up and hit the wrong object or you just aren't quick enough, a scream will be let out and the game is over.
The game has automatic shut off and can get turned on by pulling the knob. When you pull the knob you then can decide if you are going to play a one player game or a multi-player game. In the multi-player game, the game tells you to pass it and you have to pass it to the next player. The player who is left standing after everyone else was thrown out of the game for messing up is the winner.
Attached to the game is a small metal chain with key ring on it. Also attached to the chain is a plastic ring so that you can attach the game to a belt loop or even attach the game to your keychain since using the plastic ring instead of using the traditional key ring. Doing it that way allows you take the game off of your key chain in a second. If you attached the game to your keychain like a traditional keychain, you'd have to sit there and try to unscrew the key ring to get it off. So I prefer using the plastic ring since it comes right off when I want it to, and also I don't have to worry about my kids taking my set of keys when they decide to play with the game, they just take it off my keychain themselves.
Overall Recommendations
Both of my kids and myself enjoy playing with the Bop It Keychain when we are out and about. My kids also enjoy playing with the keychain and the original game at the same time with each kid playing one or the other. They like to have a competition between themselves to see who screws up first and who is the ultimate bop it champion.
Since the game is lightweight and attaches to your key chain, it's a great way to end those arguements that erupt while in the car or if you happen to be stuck in traffic with the kids in the car.
I would highly recommend the Bop It Keychain for any parents or boys & girls who enjoy playing simon says type games.
The game comes with batteries included and I have never had to change them yet. The batteries included are 3 L1154 type batteries.
