I bought this product, Akavar, 5 days ago, 6/6/09 at my local Target store. It cost me $19.99 plus tax for 32 pills. I bought it because I now weigh 210 pounds, I use to weigh 158 and that was a great weight for me. I'm 5' 7". I've tried Slim Fast, Lipo Blast, Dexatrim and many others. They either gave me the shakes(jitters) or didn't reduce my hunger at all. Slim fast just seemed to make me hungrier. So far I have lost 2 pounds which is a great start for only 5 days. This product is fast acting just like it states.
The ingredients to it are, Vitaming B6 1,251% Which is probably what gives you some of the energy.
Magnesium (as oxide) 25%
Yerba Mate
Gurana
Tremethylxanthine (i.e. Caffeine)
Damiana
Green Tea
Ginger (root)
Kola Nut
Shisandra (fruit)
Scutellaria
Tibetan Ginseng (root)
Cocoa Nut SE
Jujube (fruit)
Black Tea (leaf)
Akavar is 1,146mg
You are suppose to take 2 pills before each major meal, which could mean 6 pills a day. I was afraid this would make me shake as I am some what sensative to anything containg caffeine or caffeine like substances. NO, no shaking what so ever. So far I have only been taking 2 pills a day right when I wake up. This seems to help for the whole day. Sounds wierd right? Maybe it is my mind but I like the way Akavar is going so far. I also have much more energy at work and when I get home at night. This does not help me so much at night as it is a little hard to go to sleep now. I will let you know the progress on Monday 6/15/09.
Progress has been slow but steady. Another pound has been lost. I'm still only taking 2 pills a day, not 6 like I should. Still is giving me more energy too.
