My 4 1/2 year old wanted the Cotton Candy maker for Christmas. I couldn't find it, and had read bad reviews about it, so we got her this instead. I have to admit that we really do like it a lot. It's easy to assemble and easy to make. It comes with vanilla and bubble gum ice cream mix. The vanilla is good. The bubble gum is nasty. You can make enough ice cream for about 3-4 people (not huge servings, of course). That's usually just fine for one night's event. The only problem is that you have to go out and buy more of the mix every time you want to make some. So far, all the mixes I've seen have come with three flavors and one of them is that awful bubble gum. I'd like to just buy chocolate and vanilla, but I'm still trying to locate just those. Maybe you will like the bubble gum . . .
It also comes with instructions that are really easy. Please note that once you put the ice and salt in the drum, it gets VERY cold on the outside and children should keep fingers away from it, as they could stick to it. However, it's not easy to stick your finger in there anyway. It also comes with lots of great toppings.
Don't expect to use this to feed your entire family, but it's fun and easy for the kids to use. I like it!
