Pros: An awesome scent that really does have a relaxing quality.
Cons: Not a moisturizer.
I wasnt looking for a body lotion when I bought Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Orange Sandalwood Calming Body Lotion. In fact, I was paying for some body scrubs when this small basket on the counter caught my eye. I have always loved sandalwood as long as it wasnt too concentrated and the fruity/earthy combination appealed to me. I bought the $5.00 2 fl oz trial bottle to test it out. The fact that it was part of Bath & Bodyworks Aromatherapy line did not really leap out at me because products that claim to change the way you think and feel have never really impressed me. I bought it purely for the scent and also wanted to try out its moisturizing qualities.
At the moment, this product comes in a 2fl oz, blue, glass bottle with a screw-on lid. It will be available later in the larger version.

Bath & Body Works Claim:
Smooth gently over skin from shoulders to toes. Then, let the comforting blend of orange and sandalwood essences calm your mind and spirit.
The aroma of sandalwood has been used in various world cultures for over 4,000 years. Traditionally in India, yogis have burned its incense to help calm the mind and prepare it for meditation.
A part of the Aroma Therapy line, this is the Calming therapy among the other Relax, Sleep, Energize and Sensuality aroma therapies. I was not expecting too much of this body lotion as the concentration is more on the scent than its qualities as a lotion. I am a fan of fruity, earthy or herbal scents. Floral scents tend to give me a headache. I have always liked the scent of sandalwood and combined with the orange, it gives a slightly fruity but earthy, creamy aroma. This is a very pleasing aroma that prompted me to Mmmmmmmm, when I smelled it. My daughter also delighted in its scent. I was beginning to think differently about this aromatherapy.
After having a hot shower in the evening, I applied a small amount of this lotion in contrast with a regular body lotion. It rubbed and absorbed into the skin with hardly any effort at all. Then, the scent radiated through my senses and again came the unavoidable Mmmmmmmmm. It really did calm and relax me to a certain extent. This really surprised me as I was determined I would feel nothing of the kind. It leaves the skin soft but it is not a moisturizer. It is what it claims to be; an aromatherapy lotion, and one that is best used, I have found, after a long hot bath instead of a shower. So, now, by experience, I can recommend that if you are stressed out and need to relax, Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Orange Sandalwood Calming Body Lotion is the perfect product to help you achieve a calming effect. The aroma lingers on your skin until the next day. I wouldnt say it helped me sleep any better than I normally do but this product gives a very pleasant experience I invite you to try. It certainly made a believer out of me.
