| eternityawaits's Full Review: Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Cream |
I am, quite definitely, a Bath and Body Works addict. Or at least a collector. (I even tried working there briefly over the holidays, but I was too exhausted to hack a second job, so that only lasted about a week. Too bad - they have a nice employee discount!) I actually had never realized that they have a separate Pleasures Body Cream along with just the regular lotion.
I am not a person who typically uses body lotions. They always feel too light for me, or too greasy and need to be reapplied too often. I tried out the Body Cream while in the store one day, and I was pleasantly surprised. This is the thickest, creamiest lotion I have ever found!
About Bath and Body Works Pleasures
Pleasures is what Bath and Body Works calls their basic line. These are the most familiar products that they have been selling pretty much since day one, and they are the biggest sellers. They are also the most reasonably priced (generally between $8-$15) and come in the largest selection of fragrances. These are also the ones that are available most often in travel size and gift sets and are, generally speaking, the most favorite products. Included in the Pleasures line are the Shower Gel, Bubble Bath, Creamy Body Wash, Body Cream, Body Splash, Body Lotion, Glycerin Soap and Moisturizing Bar Soap. These are the ones that they typically have on sale for the "buy 3 get one free" events.
About Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Cream
This is the thickest body cream you'll ever find, which is why I am so loyal to it. I will go out of my way to get this when I run out, I stock up when it's on sale, and I have countless little bottles filled with it so I can take it everywhere. It comes in a 8 oz. soft plastic tube that stands upright, so you can really get every last drop out of it. One tube usually lasts me several months, even though I use it every other day or so. Regular price is $10.00 per tube, although they go on sale often as well.
Ever have that not-so-fresh feeling?
Well, you won't have that problem from this lotion. Another feature that I like about this cream is that it is non-greasy and after applying I can easily wash it off of my hands - I HATE lotion on my hands. It leaves my skin feeling moist for about a full 24 hours (if not washed off) which is why I only really use it every other day. I have also found that slathering it on dry feet in the winter with a pair of socks works wonders on dried out skin. This cream is particularly good for "trouble spots" and areas that are often damaged by harsh weather, such as elbows, hands, and feet. This is also great back massage lotion as it stays moist but is non-greasy and can really be worked into the skin.
Fragrances
The Body Cream is available in a wide variety of fragrances including (but not limited to) Mango Mandarin, Country Apple, Juniper Breeze, Coconut Lime Verbena, Freesia, Sun-Ripened Raspberry, Warm Vanilla Sugar and many others. Regretfully, the seasonal fragrances aren't made in this formula. Each tube has a caption on the back to signify the scent. From my Coconut Lime Verbena: Be whisked away to your very own paradise with this luscious blend of fresh coconut, lime, and fragrant verbena warmed by vanilla and musk. Of course, if you are purchasing this yourself, you can always do the sniff test. The fragrance from this cream seems to last just as long as the lotion itself.
