Pros: rich and creamy texture – leaves skin feeling silky and soft
Cons: notes of musk (which I understand isn't a con for everybody)
The Bottom Line: This is a very comfortable to wear body cream with a friendly, lingering scent that will leave your skin soft and very silky.

| bcv75's Full Review: Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Cream |
Note: This review is for Bath & Body Works Pleasure Body Cream In the fragrance of Coconut Lime Verbena.
Why use a lotion when you can use a body cream? Why use a body cream when you can use a body butter? Because Im a grown woman and Ive read The Three Bears, and I know now from years of experience that sometimes you need something thats not too flimsy and not too potent. Bath & Body Works Pleasure Body Cream is just right.
The scent:
Coconut Lime Verbena. I defy you not to get Harry Nilssons song Coconut stuck in your head when youre using this. I chose this scent off the website just because the combination intrigued me so much. Ive never seen it before, and because Im such a sucker for ordering online, I knew the only way I could smell it was to buy it. I like lime. I like coconut. Verbena, however, I wouldnt be able to pick out of line-up if my life depended on it. I decided to take my chances.
Its a little strong coming out of the tube, but it goes on to linger nicely on your skin once its absorbed. There are definitely primary notes of Lime and Coconut, as promised. Its a pleasant and creamy smell, that does seem at first, an odd combination, but it could very well be because its not a scent thats been done to death by every other company (at least not to my knowledge). However, theres also something a bit more perfumy that bothered me quite a bit. I thought to myself, Does verbena just smell awful and nobody informed me of this? I read the back of the bottle:
Be whisked away to your very own paradise with this luscious blend of fresh coconut, lime, and fragrant verbena warmed by vanilla and musk.
Ahhhhh musk, my evil arch enemy
we meet again.
Now, I understand that this is a purely aesthetic choice, and therefore Im not going to use my personal dislike of musk in my rating. Im just letting you all know that its there. In fact, I went and had a look at the Bath & Body Works official web store(http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/), and a quick glance at all the Pleasures Body Creams showed bottom notes with musk in every one of them. Even the more delicate scents which disappoints me greatly. It should also be noted that after using this for well over a month, Im still using it, so I have grown to accept the scent, even if its not exactly what I hoped for.
The tube:
This is a decent sized, smooth frosted plastic tube that stands upright on its smooth frosted flip-top cap. The pale green product can be seen through the plastic coloring it to compliment the picture of a lime sitting inside a piece of cracked coconut (and theres that Nilsson song again)
Net weight: 8 fl. oz. (226 g.)
The stuff:
This is a good quality, sturdy cream, pale green in color and has a light and silky immediate feel when applying it to the skin. This absorbs better than a lot of creams, so you might have to use a bit more than you expect. This isnt a bad thing, really. Its very moisturizing and its comfortable to wear.
Use experience:
It is almost a religious ritual that I use some kind of body moisturizer before bed. For this reason, I dont like greasy or hard-to-absorb creams, so that I dont have to wait an extra hour to get into my covers for fear of ruining my sheets. This stuff absorbs quickly which will always earn my admiration and praises. More moisturizing than a lotion, and lighter than a butter, this is exactly what it says it is. A body cream. You dont have to spend hours rubbing it into your skin, and whats left behind is a very pleasant moist, silky feeling. The fragrance lingers quite nicely. Not too long, but it is strong enough that you will want to be careful mixing this with perfume if you put this on after your morning shower. Id layer this with matching products from this company if intending to go out while wearing this. Its not a meek scent, by any means. Its just not uncomfortably strong once its absorbed.
My hands also feel silky and not dry at all, and it does a good job on rough elbows, too. This is an excellent daily winter cream to keep your skin in the best condition in cold, dry air.
And? Results??
Damn you, musk! And your musky muskiness! I really like this product. I mean, I really, really like this product. This could easily be a nightly thing for me if only it didnt have so much musk. I even looked at things like Night Blooming Jasmine which is a delicate floral scent that I usually love, but again, musk makes an appearance.
Otherwise, this cream has an ok staying power. Its not going to last you all day, but I really enjoy it at night. Its not as pricey as many body creams out there, but its definitely up there past anything you would buy from a typical drug store brand. The amount of fragrance and the great silky feeling it leaves behind, in my opinion, make up for the price. Its also a hefty 8 oz. tube, so it should last at least a month.
If anyone has experience with other fragrances (preferably floral) of this line that arent particularly musky, Id appreciate a comment on the heads up. :)
