| josiebruin's Full Review: Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Cream |
I'm amazed at how well this cream works with my skin. I have very sensitive skin that breaks out with pretty much any heavily scented product. Although I can take strong scented body washes, I've typically avoided heavily scented lotions until now. The creams in the Pleasures line of Bath and Body Works products work wonders on my dry, eczema, hives prone skin and allow me to wear lovely scented products.
Scent:
These creams come in a wide variety of scents ranging from florals such as Sweet Pea and White Cherry Blossom to more fruity scents such as Mango Mandarin and Coconut Lime Verbena. I tend to gravitate towards more neutral, crisp clean scents, so White Tea and Ginger is one of my favorites. It smells somewhat citrusy but not too lemony. The ginger is definitely a prominent note, although it is not overwhelming. There seems to be a scent to please pretty much everyone, so I highly recommend going to a store to test these out. The scent is rather long lasting on the skin, but not as long lasting as the lotions. Although the scent is extremely strong upon application, it does mellow out on the skin and lasts about half the day.
Texture:
These creams are rather thick and come in a squeeze tube. Despite the thickness, they sink into the skin extremely well without leaving any oily residue. Although the creams are thick, they sink in so fast that they are even bearable during the hotter months. The cream's consistency tends to be the same for all scents except for the one in Japanese Cherry Blossom. For some reason, that cream seems a bit thicker than the rest, but still not greasy.
Effectiveness:
This product does a great job of moisturizing my dry skin and tends to have a lasting effect. When used on a daily basis, I notice that my skin's texture improves. So this seems to be more than just a temporary solution to dry skin.
Bottom line:
These creams smell really lovely and provide great moisture for my dry, sensitive skin. Although they are normally about $10.50, they can typically be purchased for less either during a sale or with a coupon. The only drawback is that Bath and Body Works has a bad habit of discontinuing scents. So if you find a scent you like, stock up! Some of the scents are brought back in the "Classics" line of products, but not all of them.
