Ill be honest, Im not big on Bath & Body Works "Pleasures" line. I find most of the scents too dull and uninspired. Most of these scents have been around for years (can you remember a time when you walked into BBW and they *didnt* have Cucumber Melon or Sun-Ripened Raspberry on the shelves? ...crickets... Yeah. Me neither.), and frankly, BBW has other, more "pleasurable" things to try in the store other than Pleasures, such as Aromatherapy, True Blue Spa, and their new Temptations line (which I am in LOVE with!).
But Pleasures is the bread & butter of Bath & Body Works. It aint goin away, folks. Its their generic and most popular line I dont know a woman alive who doesnt have at least ONE "Pleasures" item hiding beneath their bathroom sink! There was a time when I had a lotion and shower gel in every "Pleasures" scent available at BBW in my collection, but I gained a little self-control and stopped shopping at Bath & Body Works until my stash was used up and I was quite successful at it! However, during the past year, Ive gotten reacquainted with BBW (due to the Temptations line and my discovery of the Aromatherapy products) and reverted back to my old habits! Guess you can take the girl away from BBW, but you cant take the
BBW out of the girl
? Err..that doesnt really make sense. But you get my point :P
So, I had a coupon for a FREE Pleasures Item up to a $10.50 value with a $10 purchase. Cant let a good coupon go to waste, so off to BBW I went!
I picked up a new Aromatherapy lotion, and then it was off to see what I could get my paws on for free. Up to $10.50 Value well, might as well make the most of it, and get something for $10.50! My choices at this price point were either the Body Cream or a Body Splash. I have enough splashes to drown a whale, so a body cream, it was!
The Scent: I tried Bath & Body Works latest addition to their Pleasures line Wild Honeysuckle. I expected this to be a lot like the old, classic Honeysuckle scent, but I was wrong. This was a much lighter and pleasant floral scent, thats perfect for spring. Its definitely not as strong and perfume-y as the original Honeysuckle was.
But Wild? REALLY? It doesnt seem too Wild to me. Im guessing that BBWs naming decision on this scent was two-fold. 1.) They wanted to differentiate this scent from the classic, original Honeysuckle scent, so they threw an adjective on it, and thus was born Wild Honeysuckle. 2.) It is probably referring to Honeysuckle as a wildflower. Is Honeysuckle a wildflower? I dont know. Im not a botanist. We dont get a whole lot of wildflowers here in the city, so Im not really up on my uncultivated flora. I, myself, have never seen a honeysuckle growing wild. At least not around here in Minnesota. Were blessed with crabgrass, dandelions, and mushrooms. We dont get cool things growing in the yard like honeysuckles. But enough about vegetation this is a body cream were talking about, not a lesson in Botany.
Like most B&BW products, the scent isnt too long-lasting. In my experience, it lasts for about an hour after you apply it. You can try layering it with a shower gel, splash, and lotion to make it last longer. Body Creams are available in most, if not all, of B&BWs current Pleasures scents.
Packaging: Comes in a squeeze-able tube shaped container, much like toothpaste, although the plastic is much stronger than a tube of toothpaste, in that it stands upright on its own and holds its shape. The lotion collects at the bottom, so theres no need to go all Hulk Hogan on the tube and wrestle with it to get the last drop out. It has a flip-top cap and the cream easily dispenses from the tube. Its a thick cream and its easy to control how much or little you squeeze out.
There is a lovely picture of a yellowish/orange honeysuckle with a white background gracing the package. I suppose this is what honeysuckles look like when theyre out in the wild, no? Whether or not its an accurate representation of an undomesticated honeysuckle, its really pretty!
The Cream: I think this has the perfect consistency! BBW Pleasures lotions are kind of runny, but good for everyday, all-purpose uses. Body Butters are too greasy and are good for only the REALLY dry parts of the skin, but the Body Creams are good for those in-between purposes - when you need a thicker, all-purpose lotion that will quickly moisturize, but nothing too greasy.
Its a little more difficult to apply this than it is with a regular lotion but thats to be expected since it is much thicker in consistency. I found that this absorbed very quickly so its great to apply after a shower without fear of the lotion getting all over your clothes. It wasnt sticky at all. It leaves a wonderful, smooth & silky feeling after use. I use this mostly on my legs (the driest part of my body), but its great to use all over. It provides much more moisture than a lotion, but if you have extremely dry areas of skin (such as elbows and heels) in need of intense moisture, I would recommend a specialty product, such as a hand or foot cream, instead of this product. Personally, my skin isnt THAT parched, so I found that this product works great everywhere.
Price: Original retail price is $10.50 for a full size, 8oz tube. Not bad, but not cheap either. Overall, a decent price for its quality and the 8 oz tube surprisingly lasts a fairly long time, even with daily use (a tube like this normally would last me about 4 months with daily use). B&BW gives out coupons like candy on Halloween, so many times, there are ways to get this product cheaper, or even for free (like I did!)!
