Pros: some nice scents, not too greasy, some good ingredients, relieves tight itchy baby belly
Cons: takes a while to blend in, does nothing for truly dry parts, some scents stink
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for intense moisture, this is not your lotion.

| jeavinl's Full Review: Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Lotion |
Im far from a Bath & Body Works junkie, but I do have my share of their products in my home, some of which I really like and others that are just OK. That second category is where I put this body lotion. Its not bad, but its not impressive either.
The basics
I currently have two 8 oz. press-top bottles of Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Lotion. One in Warm Vanilla Sugar (the one Ive been predominantly using and am reviewing here) and the other in Cool Citrus Basil. Both are distinctive scents and have similar ingredients that incorporate some naturally moisturizing/helpful components such as aloe vera, grape seed extract, and Vitamins E & C. This lotion comes in a large variety of scents that correspond with other Bath & Body Works products. Some of the current lineup include Black Raspberry Vanilla, Coconut Lime Verbena, Moonlight Path, Pink Grapefruit, Sparkling Peach, Sweet Pea, and Wild Honeysuckle. They retail for $9.50 each online or at brick-and-mortar B&BW shops. Right now, during the stores semi-annual sale, these lotions are available for $5 each. As Ive noticed on other B&BW products, these lotions note that the finished products are not tested on animals. Presumably, the test versions were.
Ingredients for Warm Vanilla Sugar
Water, glycerin, petrolatum, cetyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, dimethicone, fragrance, ceteareth-20, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, vanilla planifolia fruit extract, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E acetate), ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), avena sativa (oat) kernel extract, vitis vinifera (grape) seed extract, pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, propylene glycol, carbomer, sodium hydroxide, diazolidinyl urea, methylparaben, propylparaben, benzyl alcohol, tetrasodium EDTA, disodium EDTA, yellow 5 (CI 19140), blue 1 (CI 42090), red 40 (CI 16035).
My thoughts
My skin is pretty oily on its own and I rarely use lotion for anything other than my feet and knees, both of which this stuff does nothing for, but with my current pregnancy and burgeoning belly, my skin has been feeling very itchy and tight and Ive felt the need to apply lotion nightly. Since this lotion was already in my closet, I decided to use it and have been for several months.
Im not as happy with it as I was with my Burts Bees Carrot Nutritive Body Lotion, but it has served its purpose. I squeeze it out over my belly and massage it in every night. It has relieved most of the tight itchy feeling but well see how it handles stretch marks once I can actually see past my belly again in a couple of months.
The lotion itself is kind of drippy so its not a super-moisturizing formula. Hence the reason why it does absolutely nothing for my feet or the winter dryness I get on my knees. But for my generally oily skin, its not bad. Still, despite its lack of intense moisture, it takes a while to rub it in. It makes my skin feel a little sticky afterward and never fully blends.
I love Indian and Thai food and the fact that Warm Vanilla Sugar is described as being a blend of vanilla, coconut, basmati rice, and sandalwood definitely hooked me. Im not sure I detect all of those fragrances, but its definitely a distinctive vanilla scent and I like it. My Cool Citrus Basil one is a more summery scent described as smelling like dew-covered herbs
kissed by a hint of sun and citrus. From a person who has a habit of smelling her fingertips long after chopping fresh basil, or even garlic for that matter, Im not too impressed by the authenticity of this scent, but its still nice and has a refreshing fragrance. Over the years, Ive received other scents as gifts but theyve gotten regifted because none of them really struck my fancy enough to overcome my barely evident enthusiasm over this lotion.
Overall
For my purposes, this lotion is fine. It smells nice, relieves the dry itchy feeling of my growing belly, and isnt too thick on my naturally oily skin. But dont expect much lasting power out of it and choose your scents wisely. Some are better than others.
