Prepoia's Full Review: Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion
Who smells like cotton candy? was the question asked the other day as I visited the main office at the school I work at.
That would probably be me, was my reply. The probably (instead of is) is because Ive been told that I smell like many yummy things when I wear this lotion. It can also be described as smelling like vanilla, or caramel, or cake, or anything that smells warm and comforting. It is why I really like this lotion. The scent is dependent on what the person smelling it associates it with. My students often tell me that Im mean for smelling so good because it makes them hungry and lunch always seems far away to them.
I received a bottle of this lotion for Christmas from my son. He liked the smell and knows that I often wear vanilla scents. The lotion comes in a white plastic bottle and is white itself with a silver cap that you push down on and then dispense the lotion. It has a turquoise blue label and states not only vanilla bean on it but has the word Noel as well. I mention this because not all vanilla lotions from Bath & Body works are equal in quality or aroma. Most of their vanilla scents are good to go but only last for a few minutes. This Noel version starts out strong and then mixes with your skin and lasts for hours. I also mention the Noel word because that means that it was only available for the holiday season. I know, because I tried going back for more after the holidays and it was gone. I get pretty discouraged shopping at that store because it seems that the scents and products that I like best soon are discontinued or seasonal and then its impossible to get more. Three of these products Im thinking of are the Tutti Crème de Brule, orange ginger smoothing oil, and this Vanilla Bean Noel lotion.
Last week I did find a place on E-bay that sells this lotion so I ordered myself three for a hefty price (partially because of the added shipping). But, at least Ill have a few more before Im out of it for good.
The lotion is a decent moisturizing lotion. It is equivalent to drugstore brands in results but the aroma is the biggest selling point for buying it. I find that since the consistency is thick, a little goes a long way. For a few seconds after the application, it feels a bit sticky but once its rubbed in, no stickiness remains.
The bottle hold 10 ounces and that is nice sized and lasts a long time. Im still using my first bottle (on an almost daily basis) and it is still about half full. I usually dont use it as a body lotion but as an arm/elbow smoothing lotion. Some of the ingredients include water, glycerin, petrolatum, cetyl alcohol, ceteary alcohol, aloe, barbadensis leaf juice, macadamia temifolia seed oil. There are also some ascorbic acid, fruit extracts, and EDTA blue1 and yellow 6. I havent listed all of the ingredients here, so make sure you check them out on the bottle before you buy if you have allergies.
Another thing that I like about this lotion is that it seems to smell good on whoever wears it. Many scents, I find, will smell good on some people but not on others. This one transcends from person to person and only has subtle differences from one to another person.
My opinion is that if you get an opportunity to purchase one of these lotions, and you like sweet smelling yummy aromas, dont hesitate!
