Staten Island Ferry (Reply to this comment)

A great review of the park and surrounding attractions. I would like to mention one of the biggest attractions in NYC that's right next to the park and that is missing from the review:
The Staten Island Ferry!
Living in Staten Island, I often walk through the park on the way to/from the Staten Island Ferry. I've often waited for the next ferry on one of the park benches facing the water and when I see the ferry pulling into the slip I know that it's time to walk over to the ferry terminal.
BTW, Battery Park has been a location in numerous movies. Off the top of my head, I recall "Men in Black," "Desperately Seeking Susan," and "The Royal Tennenbaums."

I was just there and your review was right on target! The friend that I visited lives on the 32nd floor of the building on the corner of West St. and Battery Pl. I was obsessed with taking pictures from her window of the Statue of Liberty, Verrazano Bridge and Battery Park.

I was just in NYC a few weeks ago, and we went to visit Battery Park as well as Ground Zero. Seeing that globe in Battery Park was actually a lot more moving than Ground Zero, at least in my opinion.
Thanks for the great review. I can't wait to go back now and see all the stuff I missed, or just didn't know.
