I have been using Bayer Aspirin for about 3 1/2 years now. When I was growing up, Tylenol was my mother's choice, but I discovered this product a few years ago and definitely like it a lot.

Bayer Aspirin is used for fast, safe, temporary relief of headache pain, muscle aches and pain, pain and fever of colds, and minor aches and pains of arthritis. This is very important to me because I have numerous aches a pains associated with my back, that can often times cause me excruciating pains. Bayer helps to take some of the pain away, to at least make it bearable, and that is all I ask for at this point.

Aspirin revolves around the simple chemical compound acetylsalicyclic (ASA), synthesized by the Bayer Corporation Chemist Felix Hoffman on August 10, 1897. This product has been around a long time, and is a proven brand you can trust.

What does ASA do? ASA reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting several different chemical processes occurring within the body. By inhibiting the natural physiological processes, pain and inflammation are reduced. This occurs when Aspirin inhibits the production of prostaglandins, a chemical in the body. ASA also helps prevent the aggregation of platelets, which are blood clots. This is definitely a plus, because by reducing the tendency for the platelets to clot and allowing the blood to flow more freely, ASA can reduce the risk of recurrent heart attack and stroke.

~ Directions ~
It is recommended that adults and children over twelve should take one to two tablets with water every 4 hours, as needed. And to not exceed twelve tablets in 24 hours.
This product is not recommended for children under twelve years of age.

~ Warnings ~
Bayer has a very important warning on the bottle that everyone should pay attention. They state children and teenagers should not use this medicine for chicken pox or flu symptoms before a doctor is consulted about Reye Syndrome. Reye Syndrome seems to be a rare illness associated with the use of aspirin. The child usually develops Reye Syndrome while recovering from upper respiratory illness and the chicken pox. While there is no proven cause for Reye Syndrome, studies show that it is related to viral illness's and the use of aspirin.

It is recommended to not take Bayer is you are allergic to aspirin or if you have asthma. Do not take this product if you are taking a prescription for anticoagulation (which is thinning of the blood), diabetes, or arthritis. And for all you pregnant ladies, do not use Aspirin in the last three months of pregnancy. Aspirin can cause complications upon delivery of a baby.

It's torture to have arthritis in my hands, but Bayer can help relieve the minor symptoms, allowing me to go about my day with less discomfort.
