The Bottom Line: First check with doctor to see if the beneficial regimen is recommended. Anyone with a family history of heart disease/stroke, etc. should consider this type of regimen.

Bayer’s 81mg Adult Low Regimen Aspiring
I admit I do not take these every day but every other day.
The small pills are “enteric” coated, which means they won’t affect the stomach lining as adversely as plain aspirin, which can cause bleeding.
Since there is a history of heart disease in my family, and with my now having to be concern about my own cholesterol levels, I feel by taking this over-the-counter meds will reduce the risk of a heart attack and/or stroke.
The decision to take this drug should of course be discussed with a doctor, especially if someone is also taking other meds, such as those whose sole purpose is to thin the blood.
Also, it is good to remember that if any type of surgery has been scheduled, do not take this type of medication at least two to three weeks before the scheduled surgery. These meds do thin the blood, and might prove detrimental during any surgical procedure.
