Recently I found that I was having a Japanese Beetle infestation on my River Birch Tree and ornamental bushes, so to remedy this situation quickly I sprayed Bayer Power Force Multi Purpose Insect Spray, However as a longer term solution I also added Bayer Concentrated Tree/Shrub fertilizer. 


How it works
You use a simple measurement equation that relates the size of the tree's truck diameter with the amount of fluid added to the root system.  Since the tree is larger I used 6-8 ounces then mixed it with about a gallon of water then feed the tree.  I of coursed used a smaller concentrated amount of my bushes and shrubs.  The measurements are made simple as the product included a plastic lid that you could pour the fertilizer into which measured it to the nearest ounce.  Once you mix it with water the formula is complete and ready to apply to a multitude of vegetation. 


Personal Experience
The product was easy to use as previously mentioned, but it is not instantaneous, it takes several days to weeks for the tree to absorb the nutrients and push them into the leaves which will protect the vegetation for up to one year.  That is why it is imperative I purchased the Bayer Power Force Multi Purpose Insect Spray because the spray killed off the swarms of Beetles quickly while giving the fertilizer time to absorb into the root system and disperse into the remainder of the plants limbs, leaves, and system.  I found that for the remainder of this growing season the bugs, pests, and beetles left my ornamental plants alone, finding little to no damage to the remainder of the new growth areas.  Furthermore it seemed to force the little pests out of the yard as the food source had dried up. 


Recommendation
The combination of the pesticides and fertilizer made for a vibrant growing season, and a reduced number of pests attacking my vegetation.   This product gave me an edge to increase the growing quality of the vegetation, while forcing a pest off to another source of food.  I will be using both products again, hopefully applying the fertilizer earlier this year to prevent having to spray my trees with risky poisonous pesticides.  Personally I recommend using this type of product to prevent infestation for almost any home owner, it worked, and it worked well.
