Exactly as advertised

I purchased a 2005 175 Bayliner in the fall of 2004 and launched it for the summer season of 2005. Kept it at a marina slip on the Hudson River. From the start, I found it to be exactly as advertised and perfect for my needs. Ran it over 40 hours (installed an hour meter myself)and had no trouble with engine or accessory functions. After careful break-in period, the boat can reach a top speed nearly 45 mph, though I rarely ran it that fast. 23 mph is a good cruising speed with excellent fuel economy. Large fuel tank gives good range. Control layout is good, but there is limited space behind the helm to stand. Gauges look great on the dash, but glare is often a problem. Walk through windshield functions well and the bow seating is ample. There is occasional acceleration lag especially when the engine is cold. The boat easily pulled up a 150 lb. water skier. The boat handles well in a moderate chop with little water spraying over into the cockpit. One complaint, the engine cover is not hinged and it is awkward to remove it when checking oil levels, etc. Swim platform large and secure with good built in ladder.
