| kim_g's Full Review: Bayliner 2002 Trophy Walkaround DX/LX |
Purchasing this boat has been a complete nightmare. The boat was delivered with inexcusable hull defects and as a result, sank about three hours after the dealer (Olympic Boat Centers) put the boat in the water.
The dealer made two attempts to repair the boat and it sank within 3 hours after each repair. The manufacturer (U.S. Marine) refused to have anything to do with us and our warranty claim until we secured the services of an attorney to work on our behalf.
We were repeatedly informed by both the dealer and the manufacturer that sinking is not considered to be a major problem and that we should continue to "enjoy" the boat. We are not sure how they expect us to "enjoy" fighting for our lives in a sinking boat.
We were also told by the dealer that this boat contained absolutely no wood or wood products in its construction. A reputable boat yard that examined the boat after it sank informed us that the boat is almost entirely made of wood.
Nine months after purchasing this boat, we still have not been able to use it even once.
Extensive documentation regarding this boats brief and unfortunate history is available by contacting us at kg@vm.st
