| Buzzmister's Full Review: Bazooka EL1500 Car Amp |
I recently installed this amp with twin Alpine type-e subwoofers in a q-logic box in my 528i. I paid about $190 for it at Circuit City. I also added on the additional remote switch for the front because I didn't replace my head unit.
The amp works great with my subs. They provide good bass all around. If you are concerned about it not having enough power, trust me, this thing makes my Bimmer shake.
There are two problems.
First, this thing has a tendency to overheat. I have heard of several people who have had this thing burn out. I have felt mine after a 30 minute car drive and it was hot enough that it could burn you. I suggest you take it easier on this amp and don't keep it on full blast, and believe me, it still has enough power even not on full.
The other problem is with the remote switch. It looks good and takes up very little space and for the most part it works great. I don't know if this is a defect or not, but mine doesn't really change the bass past half way.
Even with these two problems, the amp is awesome. I would get another one of these if I were to get another one.
