Pros: clean, friendly staff, beautiful location
Cons: cost of the area
The Bottom Line: I attended for a work conference, but would return with my family. I recommend this location on the off-season. It would be nice in season as well.

| adrienne10's Full Review: Beaver Run Resort And Conf Center |
At the end of July 2008, I attended the Rocky Mountain Conference on Solid State NMR. This national scientific conference has long been held at this location. Located about 1.5 hours from Denver, having an altitude of about 10,000 ft, Breckenridge is known as a ski resort town.
Visiting during the summer is a wonderful time for the off-season in Colorado. The mountains are beautiful, with snow at the tips. The chair lifts are not in service, but you can hike up the mountains on roads or trails or just below the cleared ski lifts. The town is quaint, and has plenty of activities in the summer.
Certainly, restaurants are not as busy. However, Breckenridge is only feasible for visiting or if you are purchasing your second or third vacation home. The cost of living there, even in the off season, is enormous, as per conversations with residents.
Why stay at the Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center? I stayed there because it was the location of our conference. However, I would love to go back and vacation there with my family.
The staff was very kind and went out of their way to be helpful. For instance, when I called to make my reservation, I inquired about microwaves in the rooms. They assured me that microwaves were in all the rooms. Unfortunately, when we arrived our room had no microwave. I asked for one, and they could not provide it. So, they upgraded our room to a chateau: two queen beds in a separate bedroom, full kitchen, and living area with a pull-out sofa, dining table. It was one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in, and they gave us this upgrade for my roommate and I with no additional charge. The bellhop and front desk were all very helpful and nice.
The layouts and photos on the Beaver Run website are fairly accurate. The amenities are lovely. Overall, the conference center was clean and up-to-date.
