| srmaczka's Full Review: Bedtime Lotion |
The product is Johnson's Bedtime Baby Lotion. It comes in two sizes 9, 15, or 27oz. My wife purchased the 15oz bottle for $3.87 at Walmart (The world's greatest store), also available at Target and KMart. Johnson & Johnson (J&J) recommends using the product immediately following a bath. They also advise to massage over the entire body to help soothe, soften and moisturize the skin. The product is hypoallergenic and enriched with lavender and chamomile (ingredients that contain calming and relaxing properties).
Yesterday my wife bought Johnson's Bedtime Baby Lotion and when I got home from work she was so excited because she had read good reviews about it in "Parenting" magazine. So I looked at her like she was nuts thinking to myself, "OK...it's baby lotion, relax". But after she bathed Joey (our 6-month old son) she applied the lotion and gave him to me and I was shocked over how soft his skin felt. Now I realize that a baby's skin is soft in and of itself, but this softness was beyond what I expected when I felt Joey's skin. In addition, the lotion has an incredible, soft flowery scent that makes you just want to keep kissin' that baby (I know this sounds like a typical dad, but he really is a gorgeous baby, you should see him).
J&J also gives you advice on how to apply the lotion. The bottle says that you should sing to your baby while you massage the lotion onto his/her skin. I have to say that it really worked!! Joey has been teething and he gets quite irritated when we try to lay him down for the night, but once we put the lotion on and laid him down, he was out for good. I'm tempted to write J&J a letter thanking them for saving my mental state of mind.
Most important!! This lotion is NOT just for the baby. To give you some background, my wife complains to me often how she hates to shave her legs because it hurts her too much, especially afterward. So this has been her excuse to not shave her legs every day, or sometimes (but not often) for a couple days in a row. Now, I'm not trying to be unkind here and I don't want to embarrass my wife because she is a lovely lady, but when I'm sleeping, the only legs I want to feel with hair on them are my own. So anyway, my wife decided to use this lotion after she shaved and she loved it! She told me that it's the only lotion she has ever used that didn't burn her legs after shaving. This is good news for both of us, believe me. Just like that old saying goes, "When mommy is happy, everyone is happy."
Overall, this is a great product and for under $4.00, how can you go wrong to try it? If you buy Johnsons Bedtime Baby Lotion, I'm sure you will love it too.
