Want an inexpensive canoe for occasional fun and camping? Check out Coleman canoes - they are inexpensive, very durable, and a lot of fun! I purchased a Coleman 15' canoe for just over $200, and I don't regret it. We do some family camping (tent camper) and we also live just two blocks from Lake Ontario. So, we have enjoyed the Coleman canoe, and can't wait for the warm weather to return so we can paddle away.
Mind you, Coleman canoes are not for the serious sportsman that wants a canoe for extensive camping trips, white water rivers, etc. Coleman canoes are not known for being the lightest or most nimble canoes. If you want to get really serious about canoeing, look at others. But, for a canoe to have some fun in, and take a beating (especially from kids), the Coleman canoe is an excellent affordable choice.
If you are going to purchase a canoe, make sure you get equipped with life jackets for all occupants, and make sure you always carry an extra paddle. Think safety! And, enjoy the outdoors!!
