Pros: price, easy assembly and use, it really makes amazing fresh juices
Cons: the size
I have always wanted a juicer/juice extractor but it wasn't hight up on the priority list of small kitchen appliances. I recently bought a Bella High Power Juice Extractor at a warehouse store for just under $50. It was an impulse purchase.
The Bella High Power Juice Extractor is rather sleek looking. It's stainless steel with black accents so will fit into any kitchen decor. If fully assembled, the extractor will take up a lot of couter space so this is one appliance you likely will only want on the counter when using. There are three main work sections of the juicer - the pulp basket, the cutter blades and the juice pitcher in addition to the motor assembly. The juice pitcher holds a litre (quart) so it is not high volume but it is higher volume than some home juicers. The unit itself is rather easy to assemble. The cutter blades sit inside a housing. Juice goes into the pitcher whil the pulp goes into the pulp basket. All of the parts except the mail motor unit are dishwasher safe. The extractor has two speeds, high and low. High is for harder produce (eg. carrots, beets) while low is for softer produce (eg. tomatoes, peaches). Some produce does not juice well (eg. mango, bananas).
Setting up the Bella High Power Juice Extractor is not difficult or time consuming. I had no problems even as a new juicer. I simply followed the well written instructions in the manual but seriously, putting the extractor together for use really didn't need a manual. The extractor does have a lot of power! I processed 3 lb of carrots into juice in about a minute. The pulp basket is easy to clean out as is the pitcher. The mesh cutter is a bit more work to clean but that is the same for any stainer. All removable parts are dishwasher safe.
It is important to realize that no juicer including the Bella High Power Juice Extractor will not save you money unless you have a free source of produce. I did save money on the carrot juice but that's only because the carrots were on sale. So do not buy this product if saving money is your primary goal. If you want a high quality juice that has not been pasteurized, subjected to heat which destroys the enzymes, free of preservatives and other additives then this juicer is for you. If you want to make juices that you cannot buy in the stores (eg. celery or mixed vegetable or mixed blend juices) then the Bella will give you excellent results. If you want to do large volume juicing, I really don't this is the juicer for you although I do think it has the power to stand up to that type of use and the juice pitcher is larger than a lot of other juicers on the market. From my experience with larger scale cooking and preparing, the cutter basket would have to be cleaned often for larger scale juicing, not that it can't be done just it would be a bit more work. Ideally, the extractor is meant for a litre or quart of juice at a time and for that purpose, this appliance really excells.
Pros: This juice extractor is very easy to assemble and use. It gives lovely results and surprisingly it is fairly easy to clean. The price was pretty good too. At under $50 I can make whatever fresh juice I want when I want it.
Cons: The biggest con with the Bella is the size which means it won't be sitting out on my counter ready to use.
