| bikruca's Full Review: Bellies and Buns Fitted Cloth Diapers |
I bought these diapers in the newborn size. They looked so tiny when I got them and I was pregnant, but oddly enough I can still squeeze them on my 3 month old son (who wears mostly 6 month sizes). I bought them used, so some issues may not apply to new diapers.
I have mixed feelings about these diapers. I know I wont buy any more, they just werent good enough for us. However they werent bad by any means.
Here is a picture of my son wearing a bellies n buns NB fitted diaper at 2 or 3 days old. http://www.angelfire.com/oh3/no3/106_0652_2.JPG awwe... what a cutie!
These diapers come in a variety of sizes and are made of 100% cotton flannel. They have elastic at the legs and back which does not touch your baby's skin.
The Good
As a cheap fitted diaper these are made very well, and consistently. They fit very trim and fit under all covers we had (including NB Prowraps, NIKKY covers and BUMPY covers). They were absorbent enough for him as a newborn as we pretty much had to change him every hour anyways.
They have easy to use Velcro closures with a crossover tab to get a nice snug fit.
They dipped down for the umbilical cord.
The prints are so cute!
They are WAHM (work at home mom) made.
They have a tag indicating the size that doesnt fade (the ONLY cloth diaper I have with this!)
The Bad
They left red marks on my sons legs and tummy, they had a kind of rough binding at the waist.
Once he started disliking the wet feeling he hated these as there was no stay dry liner.
They are kind of fiddly to use as they are so shaped because of all the elastic they have in them.
Once he got a bit older they were no longer absorbent enough.
They took longer to dry (you can use the dryer) than some diapers (but not as long as others)
