Pros: It puts you to sleep. In the morning you do not feel groggy. According to my doctor, this is safe to take while pregnant as a sleep aid.
Cons: If for some reason you get woken up after falling asleep with this medication, it's almost impossible to get back to sleep.

This is my very first review on medication, so please bear with me!
First off before anyone gets upset about me saying it’s safe for pregnant women, I’m not saying that! I’m just saying that that is what my doctor told me when I asked him if there was any medication I could take to help me fall asleep when I was pregnant. He told me Benadryl, as long as I did not use it every night. This medication also helped while I was pregnant because I always seemed to have a stuffy nose, especially at bedtime. Benadryl cleared my nose and put me to sleep.
So I am not saying that pregnant women should buy this product. What I am saying though is don’t be afraid to ask you doctor about safe sleep aids for you to take if insomnia is a problem for you.
Okay, now that that is cleared up, on to other things about this product. If you need to get to sleep, I highly recommend buying this product. It gets the job done about half an hour after taking one blue pill. I have used Nyquil and Tylenol PM as sleep aids and neither of them work as well as Benadryl. My favorite thing about this product when used as a sleep aid is that it works fast and you do not feel groggy and out of it the next morning. Both Nyquil and Tylenol PM did that to me.
The only problem I have with this product, though, is that if for some reason you get woken up after taking this medicine, it is next to impossible to get back to sleep.
Another reason for taking this product is if you have a stuffy nose or allergies (I do not have allergies, but this product is still in my medicine cabinet). Even if your stuffy nose is not because of a cold (I get stuffy if I’m too hot), it still works, within 15 minutes after taking! I do not recommend taking this product unless you are ready to sleep. I have taken Benadryl before and not gone straight to bed. It made me extremely woozy and it felt like my heart was beating faster.
Some other information that you can find on the back of the box…
It’s only for adults and children over 12 years of age. The dosage is just one pill; do not take for more than seven days straight. There are quite a few warnings on the box. Generally speaking, you need to be in relatively good health if you take this product. Don’t take it if you have heart, blood pressure or breathing problems.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this product if you suffer from insomnia. I have been taking this product off and on for about a year now and I have not noticed a need for this product, unlike other sleep aids. If you are pregnant and are having difficulty getting to sleep at night, ask your doctor if there are any safe sleep aids for you. Mine told me Benadryl. Finally make sure after you take this product and get to sleep that your annoying husband (or wife) does not wake you up!! :o)
