Pros: Sparkly, shiny, tropical glow.
Cons: On the pricey side.
The Bottom Line: Fabulous and fun beauty product that gives you that tropical beach girl feel. But at $20 a bottle, I probably won't be buying it again anytime soon.

| ms_kitty's Full Review: Benefit Flamingo Fancy |
Let me preface my review by admitting that I am a sucker for cute and unique packaging, so I frequently find myself buying BeneFit products that I don't really need. And this is one of them.
As if the packaging wasn't tempting enough for me, I was extra excited to try Flamingo Fancy because I love a beauty product that lets you recreate the look and feel of a day at the beach. (Kusco-Murphy's Beach Hair is my all-time favorite in that respect.)
Flamingo Fancy is marketed in typical BeneFit style - its name, packaging, and advertising are all fantastic. Sephora.com sells the product as "shimmering coral bronze glaze" for the skin. Is it? Well, sort of.
I would definitely classify Flamingo Fancy as an all-over body shimmer, NOT a bronzer. Don't buy this product expecting to get a nice bronze tan color - instead, it will give your skin a healthy glow rather than a color.
The lotion itself is quite pinkish, with lots of subtle shimmer mixed in. On my first application, I noticed some uneven spots where my skin had pinkish marks. On my second try, I discovered that the key for a nice even application is to avoid applying it to dry skin - it works best when applied right after or even mixed in with other lotion. When blended properly, it left a warm pinkish-peach color on my skin. (It looked good on my fair skin, but I'm not sure if it would blend as well with olive-toned or black skin.)
What really makes this product special is the shimmer that gives your skin a gorgeous dewy glow. It is subtle and sheer enough that it is appropriate for women of all ages (don't worry - it doesn't make you look like a 16-year-old who has smeared glitter all over herself). And while it won't make you look tan, it does look great paired with a tan - natural or from the bottle. (I used it with BeneFit's Aruba in a Tuba self-tanner - the two products combined gave me a natural, not-too-dark color with great luminescence).
The scent isn't divine, but it is pleasant and soft. BeneFit calls it "tropical," but I wasn't convinced - I associate tropical scents with fruit or coconut, and that is definitely not this product. The white ginger and plumeria combination is a little old-ladyish, but pleasant enough, and not at all overpowering - you could still wear your favorite perfume or scented lotion with it and the scents won't clash. In fact, a few hours after I applied the Flamingo Fancy, the scent had completely faded.
All in all, Flamingo Fancy is a winner. Sexy and fun, it's great for a summer night out in a slinky dress, or maybe just a day when you want to add a little flirty feel to your regular beauty routine. But while I have enjoyed using it, I don't see myself running out to replace it when I run out. For $20, the bottle is small (only 4.25 oz). If it was a bit more affordable, I might be inclined to pick it up more often.
