| Candice923's Full Review: Benefit Wooosh! Foaming Face Wash |
As Editor-in-Chief of a teen magazine, I get all sorts of free swag. This swag is usually in the form of products that companies would like to have reviewed in the Flavor of the Month column. Companies send me a box of items, in hopes that I will find something that can be reviewed without tapping into their advertising budget.
Enter BeneFit Cosmetics. I love BeneFit. Their retro style packaging is absolutely adorable. It is simple, eye-catching and to the point about the product contained within the packaging. Their products are unique and fantastic. I have never had a problem with any BeneFit product. However, the pricetag of some of the products is a little high.
When presented with the opportunity to review a BeneFit product for the magazine, I jumped at the chance. I knew that my writers would be thrilled to get their hands on some BeneFit products. Heck, if they can't review it for the magazine, they can always review it on Epinions. Since we featured Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub in the first issue, I didn't want to feature another cleanser. So, I sent off Ka-Pow! to none other than Dionne, Boo Boo Zap! to Suzanne (not on Epinions) and kept the Wooosh! for myself to review.
PACKAGING
Like all other BeneFit products, Whoosh! has really eye-catching packaging. It is in a bright blue box with WOOOSH! written in white and the black BeneFit label at the bottom. The BeneFit acne-fighting superhero, Zaparella, appears in an oval with a speech bubble that reads, "Down the drain boo boos with my foaming wash!" Very clever. On the box, you can also find drug facts, warnings, directions, ingredients and a description of the product.
Open the box and you will find a clear, plastic bottle with a black cap. The label reads "Wooosh! Acne Fighting Foaming Face Wash" on the front and lists the warnings, active ingredient and brief description on the back. The dispenser is a push-pump dispenser which foams the product as it is being released from the bottle.
CONSISTENCY
I was a little surprised when first using Wooosh. I thought that the consistency of the cleanser was going to be very light and foamy. Instead, it feels slippery, almost like a gel, and has a little foam to it. You only need two pumps to wash your face, as the cleanser lathers very well.
SCENT
Truth be told, I was really put off by the scent of Wooosh when I first used it. It doesn't have any fragrance, so you smell the Salicylic Acid that it contains. I was preparing for a pleasant scent, and was sorely disappointed. Scent is really important to me when it comes to bath and body products, including facial cleansers.
RESULTS
Even though I wasn't impressed with the consistency and scent of Wooosh, the results blew me away. I had CLEAR skin in three days. Not "clearer" skin, mind you... CLEAR skin. I went from having what looked like a strawberry patch on my chin to NOTHING. Perfect, clear skin. Quite frankly, I couldn't be happier. I have never had results like this from any other facial cleanser.
COST
Wooosh! Foaming Face Wash costs a whopping $22 for a 5 fl. oz. plastic bottle. When I first learned the price of Wooosh, I was shocked. I was worried that the price tag would be a little too high for teenagers, which is who my magazine is targeted toward. Now that I have used Wooosh and see the amazing results, the $22 is worth it.
CONCLUSION
The results say it all. I've got clear skin, thanks to Wooosh. The scent and the consistency don't matter, since the results are so fantastic. The $22 price, however, knocks this facial cleanser down a star. However, if you've got problem skin, Wooosh! is worth a shot.
