Pros: Really, really appeals to the lowest common denominator.
Cons: Really, really appeals to the lowest common denominator.
The Bottom Line: You should see this in general but don't see it if you're a) intellectually arrogant or b) easily offendable.

Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
Russ Meyer's movies are known for a few things, vulgar humor, well-endowed actresses and volatile sexuality. 'Beneath the Valley...' is no exception, but uinlike some of his earlier movies, it little in the way of plot. Meyer manages to make up for this by adding more of what I've already mentioned. The movie ends up being no more than a series of comedic sexual vignettes, but they are still pretty well done.
Meyer seems to get away with this lack of substance, by making everything extreme. Candy Samples (a classic within a classic) playing a christian radio broadcaster who appears to be having a fling with a nazi (another common Meyerism), a gay dentist and his lesbian nurse etc. It makes little sense but it's very entertaining.
The main plot revolves around the star, Kitten Natividad, and her romantic troubles with her boyfriend. I won't go into more detail than romantic troubles in a public review but I think you can guess the ballpark I'm talking about. The only reason that you can consider this the main plot is because 4 or 5 of the two dozen or so vignettes have something to do with this.
This is not a great movie, it's not Russ Meyer's finest, never bring a date to this; but it is the best example of Meyer, a kind of exaggerated Meyer. Not great, but definitely entertaining.
