| Publius_Unum's Full Review: Benny's Burritos - West Village |
A night at the Metropolitan Opera with my sister in New York City, would
not have been complete if we did not go out for a Burrito at Benny's. I am in no way a New Yorker of any kind, but I was quite hungry when we had gone to see Mozart's "The Magic Flute" at the Metropolitan Opera on a Saturday Night. I was very hungry, but I was not sure what I was hungry for. My sister suggested we hit a place that makes the best burrito's in New York. She took me to Benny's Burrito's. When I thought of burrito's back then, the image that came to my mind was one you would pick up at the A&P and pop it into the Microwave. Benny's Burrito would have been too big to fit in a microwave! Folded on a steaming plate with chunks of beef and black beans. I smothered it with sour-cream and added some hot-sauce. Being immune to alcoholic beverages, I asked for an O'Douls. The waitress looked at me as if I was from Michigan. In which case I am from Michigan. The point is, is that that burrito that I could not finish on my own had to be downed with my very first Buckler beer (non-alcoholic beverage), and I never had anything bad to say about burrito's again.
