If you like burritos, Benny's is a definite must. Let me explain. It's dinner time and you decide to head over to Benny's. You try to call ahead but they tell you that they don't take reservations and that there is currently a half hour wait. You decide to go anyway but when you get there the wait is now 45 mins. The place is packed and you can't even get near the bar and you have to wait outside. At this point you are truly thinking can this place really be worth it??? After about 15 mins you see some room free up at the bar and squirm on in. Here's where your patience has started to pay off. You order a frozen margarita along with some salsa. They usually have 2 or 3 different fresh fruits to flavor your margarita from which you have to choose. If you're a tequila aficionado, you order yours with a premium brand. You sip your drink and eat some chips with the salsa and start to realize why you came here. You finish your drink and order a second but just as it comes your table is ready. Hmm where did the time go?
You bring your drink with you and squeeze into your table. You look through the menu and order one of their burritos. My favorite is the beef but they're all good. I'm told the vegetarian ones are also quite good but I haven't had them myself :). When it comes it is the largest burrito you'll have ever seen. If you like some extra kick like I do, put on a few drops (and I do mean drops) of one of the hot sauces that are already on the tables. I prefer the green one. In general I'm always against eating finger food with silverware but you'll have no choice at Benny's, the burritos are just too big. So pick up your knife and fork and dig in. Stuff yourself and don't forget to ask them to make you a doggie-bag. Unlike a lot of tex-mex places, when you taste the food again the next day it will be a lunch of thoroughly enjoyable leftovers.
