Pros: Super comfortable, great price, good customer service, bed backed by a great warranty.
Cons: Shipping by Yellow. Bergad should consider service that would deliver the bed into your house.
The Bottom Line: I love the bed and am considering ordering another one for my other home.

| klattlaura's Full Review: Bergad Isoform Mattress |
I tried out the tempurpedic and loved it, but didn't love the price. I checked the epinions here, and decided to order Bergad because of the positive reviews of the bed. The fact that the mattress was $1200 less than tempurpedic was also a huge factor in my decision! Despite the disparaging remarks about customer service, Bergad's service was fine, Jim was very nice and professional. There was a slight address mistake on my initial invoice, but when I called, it was fixed immediately. The mattress came quickly, I ordered on a Thursday and it was shipped out the next Wednesday, arriving on Thursday.
The bed itself was great. I ordered a king size, with boxsprings and a bed frame. The frame was sturdy and easy to assemble. When I removed the mattress from the plastic wrapping, it had a very slight chemical smell to it. But, I did not even notice a smell any more after about an hour. The cover on the mattress is very nice, super soft and attractive. One of the great things about the bed was the thickness of the mattress, it's only 8 inches, so regular king sheets fit and stay on it nicely. This is a great change if you are used to having a pillowtop or plush innerspring mattress, which are so thick that the sheets are constantly popping off the corners. As for how the bed feels--I can't even begin to describe the difference between it and a standard innerspring mattress. No comparison! It feels as good, or better than the tempurpedic which I tried out at a mattress store. You lay on it, and the foam conforms right to your body. No painful pressure points on your hips or shoulders. My first night on it, I slept like a dream. I have bad problems with neck pain, and found I didn't have any neck pain at all in the morning. I did not toss and turn all night like I usually do. Best of all, I did not wake up with my arm asleep like I do if I sleep on my side on an innerspring mattress. The foam pillows that come with the bed are also very nice, they complete the whole sleeping experience. They are great for back sleepers, since they are contoured for the neck. I haven't had the bed for long enough to testify to it's durability, but I have great faith in the 20 year warranty given by Bergad. I think I will have this bed for a long time to come!
The following information does not have to do with the bed itself, but it is pertinent, since it addresses the shipping company that Bergad uses to deliver the bed to you--Yellow. They were scheduled to deliver to my apartment between 5pm and 7pm, the only time I could be there, since I'm moving and spending time between two addresses right now. I didn't want to miss delivery, so I sat in my apartment waiting, unable to get any dinner (the apartment is still bare). No one called or showed up. When I called yellow, the dispatcher checked and said that the truck driver couldn't find my location. It is first of all absolutely ridiculous in this day and age of computerized mapping technology that a shipping company should be unable to find my address. Second of all, it is unacceptable that a company would not call the customer who is awaiting a delivery when there is some reason they cannot show up. I could have given directions to the driver, but no one bothered to call me, they just decided to not show up. Yellow tried to have me reschedule for the next day or Monday, but I was not going to be there, so I insisted the driver turn around and bring the bed that night. He showed up around 9pm, and refused to bring the bed up sidewalk stairs to my apartment door, for "insurance" reasons. He therefore left me, a lone female, in the parking lot with a 135 pound king sized mattress, box springs and frame propped against a light pole. I almost killed myself getting it into the apartment.
I'm not sure how many people have had similar problems with delivery, but keep in mind that it's a good idea to have someone around to help you when they bring the bed, since they don't have a service to set the bed up for you. I think that this would be a worthwhile thing for Bergad to look into offering.
