Pros: Above all else: A GREAT night sleep & that's what it is for right?
Cons: I forgive them for the communication problems about delivery.
The Bottom Line: Dream, move around and sleep well: Waterbed lovers and semi-firm/or firm mattress folks can be happy together, and not disturb each other's slumber, unless you want to(smile)!

Have you ever been jostled awake by your bed partner who thinks he is chasing criminals, or playing football while he is sleeping beside you? Well this happened to me too many times on his old waterbed. I am a firm mattress gal myself and he is a 30 year veteran of waterbeds... so after putting a board on my side, and adding a 4-inch memory foam topper and sheepskin matteress pad to his waterbed he thought he had done enough. But I was still waking to the ebb and flow of every sudden move, so we did our research and tried the various manufacturers of in-store memory foam mattresses. Also know that I was in Switzerland a couple of years ago, staying with friends, and fell in love with their foam mattress and was trying to replicate that experience.
In my online research I by chance came across Bergad/Isoform and am glad I did. All the Epinions here before me helped with my decision to take the risk on this untried mattress and I am glad I did. [5 month Update: Having traveled much over the past 5 months we REALLY enjoy our bed back home. Particularly the ease of getting in and out of bed without disturbing your partner with the movement!]
We bought the Deluxe, and topped it with our 4- inch topper and sheepskin mattress pad...put it right on top of our new Cal-King Deluxe isoform which is sitting on top of our waterbed platform, inside the original frame for the waterbed. Mmmmm! Pretty terrific right away! and the Waterbed King thinks so too! [Update: after several months I prefer the Isoform without all of our added 4" topper: I am a firm mattress gal, whereas he prefers it soft.]
We also were able to get the 2 free pillows with our order and they are really great too! much to my surprise. I am a traditional goose down pillow gal, with a tempurpedic travel pillow for when I am away from home. But the first night with the Isoform pillow I was very comfortable. It seemed to support my neck perfectly, to align the mattress support optimally, so I felt more of the floating effect while on my back, than I did with my down pillow. [Update: I am back to my down pillow more often than not.Due to an old injury my neck can go out of alignment easily, and the down pillow allows me to keep the height low and cradles my neck, for stability, more effectively than the Isoform pillow.]
We did 'air' it out for 2 days, and I sprayed frebreeze on it after that to really get out all of the light chemical smell that remained. Please note that I am very sensitive, and the chemical initially acted as a stimulant in my system. So when I was testing it in the living room while it was airing, instead of getting a quick test nap, I got a 'pick me up. So I put the mattress in a closed room, sprayed the Frebreeze lightly and turned on our ionizer full blast and shut the door. After one day all was great, and it was ready to go.
The kids loved it being in the living room for a couple of days. Even one neighborhood kid said, "I'd move to your house if I could sleep on this every night, this is the best." All the kids had seen the tempurpedic commercial and wanted to do the glass trick - NO WAY! - I told them it was similiar, but better for sleeping, so no liquids near my new mattress please! But they all loved just laying on it. It was the calmest I had seen these three 13 year old boys all summer.
Delivery: Not as I was told over the phone, as you may see in some of my earlier comments to other reviews. I was told when I ordered it that delivery was suppose to be in a couple of days. Then 2 days later we received an email confirming purchase, and saying they would notify us when it was shipped, and when to expect delivery. I emailed them to let them know I was told something different, and just wished they would be consistent. No delivery email arrived, but the day before delivery I received a call from a local mover, wanting to confirm I would be home. Bergad is still using Yellow, who sub-contracted the local delivery to a small antique furniture delivery guy - who was very nice but clear "I can only go to your front door or in your garage". After I asked, he admitted the mattress weighed 100-lbs, which was obviously too heavy for me alone. So he pushed it thru the door, with me inside the house pulling, so we could stand it on its side in the entry...a compromise that worked. The box was open on one edge in the middle in a patch - looked like someone checking for contents or just grabbing it wrong. No damage though. The soft cardboard and inside plastic wrap is more to protect the surface from dirt, and this seemed to work. I think it would be difficult to damage this material. They seem to be trying to keep it a small family business, and are focused on quality product and filling orders. It arrived within a reasonable timeframe, in a little over a week.
We paid $1200, plus $100 Shipping....Average price for a good Cal King standard mattress, great price for a comparable memory foam mattress. They did not hesitate to give us two pillows at no cost - although all the mattress stores are doing this too plus they add a protective mattress pad - and the Isoform pillow is so comfortable and complimentary to the mattress as I have configured it, beyond my expectations! Wow! Also the new Isoform design/formula has great air flow! Tempurpedic seems to be trying to address this problem with their product, but these guys have it solved already. This was a BIG issue with the Waterbed King, as he sweats when he sleeps. Solving snoring is another issue!
UPDATE: Everything is still ideal with this bed, but still combatting the snoring of my bed partner. I have gone back to my down pillow most of the time. With the down pillow snuggled against one ear and my ear plugs I am successful combating the snoring next to me - the Iso pillow doesn't bend and block the sound like down. I travel a great deal, and still seem to catch up effortlessly and deeply when I get home to my fantastic mattress....there is no place like home, there is no place...
