I love German food and there is no better setting than a beer hall in which to enjoy it!

I was in Chicago just before Christmas and made a couple of trips to the Berghoff- one for food and one for the frothy stuff.

The food follows a traditional German (Bavarian) fare, but the dishes are not the same as you would find in Munich. Nonetheless, they are very good. You wont leave Z' Berghoff feeling cheated.

Located inside the Loop in the heart of the Financial district the Berghoff is a piece of Chicago legend. A historical sign in the window shows one of the Berghoffs proudly showing off Chicago Liquor License #1 after Prohibition was lifted.

As for the beer it is fantastic, worth the trip alone!!

If you walk in and see a line of 30+ people do not worry, you are likely to be sitting within 15 minutes.
