Pros: Good comfortable bed, nice and clean. Well maintained.
Cons: I would never eat at the attached restaurant again, even with a free buffet ticket.
The Bottom Line: So much better than anything else in Pecos. Clean. Comfy. Nice.

| toniroger's Full Review: Best Western Swiss Clock Inn |
There is not much of anything in Pecos, TX but if you are looking for a comfortable place to rest your head I would recommend the Best Western Swiss Clock Inn. It is by far, the best place to stay in Pecos and trust me you do not want to sacrifice a few bucks and give up the comfort of a good hotel.
I stayed here this past Saturday with my husband. Pecos has a population about 9,000 and is the home of the first rodeo in these here parts.
The hotel is conveniently located just off I20 and highway 285, the two main roads in town. It boasts a restaurant (dont bother) and a free full hot breakfast (digusting) but the hotel rooms were really nice.
Our room had a large comfy king sized bed and was nicely furnished. The bed had five soft pillows (kind of like down, but I believe it was sythetic) The tellevision was nice too with cable and HBO.
The armoire was very practical yet fashionable...where I could hang up my clothes and had room to stash away bags while getting comfortable.
Included with the room was high speed internet access, a small fridge, microwave and one cup coffeemaker. (My tip would be use bottled water because the water in Pecos tastes awful!) The shower was good with plenty of hot water and great water pressure.
Ammenities also include an iron, ironing board, a blow dryer and complimentary toilitries upon request. A fitness room is available for guest use. An outdoor pool is available during the right seasons.
Overall, the hotel room was clean and fresh. Compared to other hotels in Pecos it by far outshines the competition.
What to do in Pecos:
1.Attend the rodeo, if there is one. There wasn't one last weekend.
2. Cruise walmart since its open twenty four hours. I think this is the first 24 hour wally world that I have seen that was not a super walmart with groceries.
3. Go to the bar. Find an eclectic mix of people to watch in your local bar. Earlier that night, a big group came in from a funeral and decided to celebrate by getting rowdy and reorganizing the pool table. (and fighting.)
4. Go back to the hotel and enjoy a clean, smoke free atmosphere. If the pool is open, enjoy the pool!
The buffet that was served with the room was horrible. The bacon and sausage was served literally dripping in grease. The gravy was bland. The eggs tasted digusting, like they were rotten. The coffee horrible (maybe the water?) The service was good though, with a friendly and professional waitress who went out of her way to be nice. The dinner was not worth the price of the meal. I had chicken fajitas which were too spicy to eat and I am used to spicy food. My husband had chicken fried steak, which was cubed steak and a small portion.
If you are staying in Pecos, I would recommend eating at Alfredos for lunch or dinner (mexican/american food. Chips and salsa is great. Chicken fried steak and tacos are wonderful!) In the morning, there is a nice burrito restaurant that has wonderful brisket burritos that I can recommend as well.
