Cons:Not for someone who hasn't cooked before.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend it to someone who knows their way around the kitchen, but not someone who has never cooked much of anything before.
I guess I am going to be the oddball here and say I did not like this book. In all honesty, I bought it trying to impress my boyfriend at the time. I came at the book with little to no cooking experience at all. I tried a roast and a chicken and noodle recipe (I cant recall the actual names). For one thing, I had a hard time finding the actual ingredients, and when I did, they were really expensive. I had a secretarial job at the time and a old apartment, so you can imagine I did not have a ton of money laying around. I will admit it was better than a Rachel Ray cookbook someone gave me recently, which had about 30 ingredients for each recipe and each ingredient seemed like nothing I had even heard of. I think this is probably a good cookbook for someone who already knows their way around the kitchen, but I was a 23 year old who had no clue about anything at the time. Perhaps its my fault, I should have started with something easy, but I think recipes should be more accessible to everyone (call me crazy). In conclusion, this wasnt a bad book, and if I went back to it now I would probably not have a hard time with it, but for someone who is starting out, I would not recommend it.
