Betty Crocker Muffins Taste Homemade

Pros:Great taste, very moist, affordable
Cons:Streusel topping very crumbly
The Bottom Line: These muffins really do have a homemade taste, and they are super easy and fast. My family loves them.
Our family loves muffins, and I often make them for dinner. Betty Crocker has been one of my favorite brands for years. My mom bought Betty Crocker exclusively because she used the points on the boxtop to get her flatware, just as many of us probably have. It was a staple in our home, and I have always gone back to it as an adult with my own family.
Betty Crocker has several varieties of boxed muffin mixes, but the Cinnamon Streusel flavor is a real treat! It's quite rich and sweet, more like a coffee cake than a muffin.
Making the muffins is quick and easy, so if I am in a hurry and don't have time to make them from scratch, I bring out my secret weapon, Betty Crocker! The mixes are made with enriched flour, and all I have to add are milk, oil and eggs.
Super Easy to Make!
The muffin mix comes in a plastic bag, and I simply dump it into a large bowl, stir in 3/4 cup milk, 1/4 cup of oil and two eggs. After filling my muffin tins nearly to the top, I then open the pouch of streusel topping and divide that evenly on top of each muffin. Betty Crocker gives a very ample supply of the topping, and it often falls off, so it helps to press it into the batter a little bit with my fingers. In about 18 minutes my muffins are done!

The Taste Test
Oh my gosh, are these ever good! Every time I serve them, our guests ask me for the recipe! When they are baking the
entire house smells wonderful! My daughter says it smells like Christmas, I suppose that's because of the cinnamon in
the streusel topping.
The muffins are light and moist, while the topping comes out crispy and crunchy. There is so much streusel that some usually falls off when I am taking them out of the muffin tins, and also while you eat them. Occasionally some of the streusel topping will fall off in the oven and land on the metal part of the muffin tin, and it will burn and set off my smoke alarm - so I try really hard to adhere as much of the streusel to the muffin batter as possible.
The individual boxes sell at my grocer for almost $3.00, but you can buy them in packs of 12 on Amazon.com for
$27.90.
There is a recipe on the box to make a cinnamon bread, and this would be a really nice Christmas gift to give to a
neighbor or shut in person.
Betty Crocker's other muffin flavors are:
* Apple Streusel
* Banana Nut
* Chocolate Chip
* Lemon-Poppy Seed
* Twice the Berries
* Wild Blueberry
