Everyone makes mistakes when they write and even though we don’t write many things manually or even print out written documents with the frequency of the past, there are still times when we need to block- out something on a piece of paper. In the old days, people used liquid white- out for this purpose. Today, we have more and better choices and one of them is Bic Wite- Out Correction Tape.

Bic Wite Out Correction Tape consists of thin, white- colored adhesive tape designed to cover small mistakes on paper and possibly other white- colored surfaces. The tape is contained on the inside of the see- through dispenser and it is released via a tear- off bar that extends from the outside. To use, you just glide the tip of the dispenser across the surface to be covered. There is no need to thread- the tape is already in place after each use, ready for the next task.

The Bic Wite Out Correction Tape dispenser has a rounded body and measures about 3.5 inches in length. The tape itself is 1/6 of an inch in thickness and can cover most lines of text. If lines are thick, a second strip of tape may be necessary to complete cover the mistake.

With Bic Wite Out Correction Tape, you just glide the tip across the surface of your paper, on top of a mistake or something you want to cover, and the tape releases itself, creating a thin white barrier that can be written on or left the way it is.

Most all of have used liquid white- out at some point since it was, after all, the original mistake- covering solution. It worked, but it had its share of problems, including the smell, mess, and drying time. With Bic Wite Out Correction Tape, these problems are taken away. There is no bad smell and no liquid to spill. There is no need to wait for drying because there is no liquid. The tape is already dry, smooth, and ready to go, straight from the dispenser.

I have been using correction tape dispensers such as this since they first hit the market and I have found most of them good and very convenient. They all offer certain advantages like those mentioned above, and more. With the Bic Wite Out Correction Tape, you get a see- through container that lets you know when the tape is running low. You also get a dispenser that is angled at the tip, making it more comfortable to use. I do not know why other manufacturers didn’t think of this idea sooner, but if you look at the illustration with this review, you will see what I am talking about. The dispenser tip is sideways, and that means when you grip the dispenser body, you can hold it parallel to the surface (as opposed to straight up and down) and then dispense the tape. This is much more comfortable than other dispensers that feature a tip at a different angle.

The Bic Wite Out Correction Tape covers a single line of text quite well. Even the darkest ink is out of sight when covered with this tape and you can write on top of the tape immediately. If your text is very wide, it will require using more than a single line of tape to cover it. This can add up quickly, so depending on the size of the mistake, you might be better off reprinting or finding some other way to reproduce the document without the error. Otherwise, you’re going to be sitting there adding stroke after stroke of correction tape before the mistake is covered completely.

Bic Wite- Out Correction Tape is a very good product, but is it the perfect mistake solution? Well, I have found that it does have a few small issues. One is the lack of sufficient width to cover large mistakes, as mentioned above, but the other more noticeable problem is that the tape doesn’t always dispense evenly. Sometimes, I will stroke the tip across my paper and no tape will release at first. Then, suddenly, it will start to release, completely missing the mistake and covering another part of the paper. Also, the ends of the tape will sometimes curl up and have to be pressed back down on the paper to adhere. If the ends have lost their stickiness, they will need to be torn off, which can be a hassle for those with larger fingers.

Overall, Bic Wite Out Correction Tape is still a good product in spite of its small flaws. It isn’t perfect in every way, but it is much more convenient and less messy than liquid white out and is relatively inexpensive if purchased in multi- packs. It is a very good mistake correction tape that gets the job done with little hassle.
