I had never heard of the brand of dog food called Bill-Jac until I got a surprise in the mail. It was a three pound box of their Bill-Jac Select Dog Food.
I read the back of the box and decided to take their challenge, they said to place a bowl of Bill-Jac Select Dog Food next to your pet’s regular brand of food and see what would happen. Well there was no contest there. My dogs ate the Bill-Jac Select Dog Food and left their Pro Plan sitting.
What I noticed about the dog food was theirs looks like rabbit pellets when you pour it out so even the smallest of dogs can eat this. Even my finicky three pound Yorkshire Terrier ate it. He hates everything.
There was no dog food smell with this either. In fact there wasn’t any smell that I could tell but there must have been a whole lot of taste.
I decided to do a side by side comparison of the ingredients of Bill-Jac Select Dog Food and the Pro Plan Chicken and Rice for adult dogs.
INGREDIENTS FOR PRO PLAN

INGREDIENTS FOR Bill-Jac Select Dog Food

Both are very high in fat but there is one difference. The Bill-Jac Select Dog Food has molasses in it to make it sweet to the palate. If your dogs are like mine, anything sweet they smell they want.

After comparing the ingredients I am still not sure which is the best for my three spoiled rotten dogs. I guess I am going to have to ask my Vet. He surely knows more about this than I do.
I want the best nutrition for my pets and if it means switching over to the Bil-Jack line of foods then I am more than willing.
From my experience my dogs do love the flavor more than the Pro Plan but I am afraid they are going to have to finish the rest of their 35 pound bag before I purchase more. They are also going to have to wait until I am sure of which is the best for them.
I did notice that they had a reduced fat dog food which might be a whole lot better for my little ones. My husband and I are at work all day and they do not get to run and play like they should. I don't want them gaining too much weight.
The cost is $35.00 for a 35 pound bag, the same as Pro Plan. So there wouldn't be a cost savings for me. I don't want to scrimp on their nutrition so the jury is still out on whether I will purchase this for them.
You can buy Bill-Jac Dog Food at PETsMART. There are other foods that are in their line such as Select Dog Food
Reduced Fat Dog Food
Puppy Food
Senior Dog Food
Dog Treats
Looks like all of them have chicken in them too.
Thanks for reading.
