mcmaster's Full Review: Bio Spot Flea & Tick Control for Dogs
Bio Spot Flea & Tick Control For Dogs
My wife and I raise, show and breed Long Haired Miniature Dachshunds. We also have two larger dogs we saved from a dog pound. We have nine miniature Dachshunds, one black Lab and one Heinz 57 boy. They are all great dogs and friends. Our dogs spend a lot of time out in the yard and come in at night. This year the ticks and fleas are very bad. I have never seen them this bad. The earwigs are thick as flies as well. We went to Petsmart to find a good Flea & Tick treatment.
They have a large selection. We buy most of our pet supplies here. After pricing all the brands we decided to give the Bio Spot a try. After the application I watched my dogs very close. I have read that some dogs have a reaction to this treatment. None of my dogs had any reaction with this topical medicine. It was also not as strong smelling as the other treatments. After four weeks none of my dogs have had a tick or a flea. They are in our yard because I have found two crawling on me after going outside.

Conclusion
A lot of people are scared of pesticides and rightly so. Pesticides are bad but the alternative is worse. Having my dogs eaten alive by fleas, ticks and mosquitoes is a miserable existence. Not treating your dogs is leaving them wide open to heart worm, lyme disease and a slew of other bug bites. I had to have my cloths treated with Permethrin in Kuwait before going into Iraq. The soldiers who chose not too were eaten alive by sand fleas. Some soldiers were allergic to it and I felt for them. If its good enough for me its good enough for my dogs.
The final test was after they were treated none of them got sick. I was watching them and ready to wash it off and take them to the Vet. Luckily none of my dogs had any reaction. Its been four weeks now and I still have not found a tick on them. They have also quit itching from fleas. In conclusion if your dog is not allergic to the ingredients in Bio Spot I would recommend it. Its a good value for your money as well. Its tough to get a straight answer from a Veterinarian about the many different pesticides because they want you to buy whatever brand of pesticides that happen to be peddling. I am happy with what works on my dogs without any reactions that I can get at a decent price. Bio Spot fits that bill.
