I have 7 cats and with that many your bound to have a flee problem. I noticed my babies scratching about 2 weeks ago and knew I had to do something. One night I sat at my computer searching for the solution. With 7 to treat I knew the cost would be high.

After a long search that had me almost cross-eyed, I found my solution. I found an on line pet store which offered flee control products at wholesale prices, Lucky me, or so I thought. Bio Spot was my answer. The description of Bio Spot made the application sound simple. The direction were simply to apply the product to the back of the cats neck.

Thinking this was the best way to go I ordered enough to cover all 7 of my kitties. The product arrives and I get my first surprise. The site failed to describe the towelettes included or what they were for. Reading the directions for use I discover that the towelettes are to kill the adult flees. You have to wipe your cat down with the towelette first. Yea, like they are going to like that? Not one bit!

This "SIMPLE" treatment turned out to be a huge mess. Having to wear gloves to apply the product only added to my kitties fear of what was happening to them. This made it difficult to apply the small tube of product to the cats neck. I had to wait until later to do the second step. I didn't like that at all.

While reading the package ,before applying the product, I discover that it suggests you talk to your vet before use on a cat taking medication. One of my cats has Asthma and takes medication for that as well as a blood thinner. I make the call expecting to get the ok from her. Not only did I NOT get the ok but, I was told not to use the product at all.

My vet tells me that she has had several cats to come in with seizures after the use of Bio Spot. She explains to me how the product works. When Bio Spot is applied to the cat it enters the cats blood stream. The flee control comes when a flee "BITES" your cat, draws blood and dies from the poison in your cats blood. "THROW IT AWAY",she said.

I had just applied it to two of my cats. I immediately washed it off of them and threw it away. She did tell me that Frontline was a bit more expensive but, it doesn't enter the cats blood stream. The Frontline only goes to the cats fatty tissue. My kitties won't have to be bit by a flee for it to die.

Luckily, my kitties were not sensitive to the Pyrethrines in Bio Spot. I'll definitely be a Frontline user from now on. I learned a valuable lesson. CHEAPER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER!
