Pros: Amazingly comfortable, Good fluid retention
Cons: Poor durability, Uncomfortable when dry (Worse than any other)
The Bottom Line: The Biocompatibles Proclear are a real trade off... They can be the best contact lenses you've ever had at some moments, and then they can also be the worst.

| soupcraze's Full Review: Biocompatibles Proclear Compatibles |
For around six months I was wearing Biocompatibles Proclear one month soft lenses in my right eye. They were recommended to me by my eye doctor since my right eye is somehow considerably more sensitive than my left eye. I wanted to see if there would be anything more comfortable than Johnson & Johnson Acuvue 2 lenses that I could try in my right eye. To my surprise, I was recommended one month lenses rather than two week! So here's how my six months of wearing Biocompatibles Proclear lenses went.
-Price-
*The Biocompatibles Proclear were the most expensive contact lenses that I've ever worn. They costed $45 a box directly from my optometrist, and still cost around $30+ a box online. Even with online prices, the Biocompatibles Proclear are still more expensive than Acuvue 2 lenses which can be purchased for around half the price. However, these are one month lenses while the others I looked at and tried were two week lenses. So when you think about it, they are priced just about right. So then after that it just comes down to personal preference.
-Comfort-
*I was surprised. I thought that one month lenses would be less comfortable than two week lenses. The Biocompatibles Proclear were actually noticably more comfortable than Acuvue 2 contact lenses. I barely noticed that they were even there! So when the Biocompatibles Proclear were well lubricated, they were by far the most comfortable lenses. You wouldn't even know that they were there. However, once they lost fluid or went a little over one month in age, they would quickly turn to something else...
-Fluid Retention-
*The Biocompatibles Proclear seemed to hold in fluids very well compared to the Acuvue 2 lenses. I would be able to go on for hours in absolute wonder. They held the fluids pretty well and sometimes I completely forgot that I was even wearing contact lenses. However, once the Biocompatibles Proclear began to lose fluid and dry out, they proved themselves to be significantly worse than the Acuvue 2 lenses. When they began to get dry, it happened very quickly. The vision got extremely foggy and blurry with them when they were dry. Even when the Acuvue 2 lenses began to dry out, they still never got as foggy or at all as quickly as the Biocompatibles Proclear did. The Biocompatibles Proclear also caused a greater amount of discomfort compared to the Acuvue 2 lenses when they began to dry out. Carrying eye drops or a bottle of saline solution is an absolute must. When they go dry, you really suffer. It's something thatg should make you reconsider purchasing these lenses.
-Durability-
*Even though these lenses were made to last longer than Acuvue 2 lenses, they really don't seem to act that way. They are pretty easy to tear if you're not careful. Also, something else that I noticed is that eventually they began to crack in my eye making them nearly unbearable to wear and caused a lot of pain to the eye. I managed to find cracks in my two final lenses after wearing them for only a couple of weeks. I don't think that they were defective to start with since I always inspect new lenses before putting them in and they seemed to be perfectly fine. I've never had problems with any other lenses cracking in my eyes. I've never seen that kind of deterioration until the Biocompatibles Proclear lenses. So if you take extremely good care of your lenses and lubricate them often with eye drops or re-insert them with saline solution, I think you'll be okay. If you don't take such good care of your lenses, you might want to skip out on these.
*Also, if you're into wearing lenses longer than their prescribed time, you might be out of luck with these lenses. It seemed that even a couple days after a month has passed, they were extremely uncomfortable. So if you're wearing these lenses for a month, you should discard them then. I managed to wear Acuvue 2 lenses for much longer than I wore the Biocompatibles Proclear.
-Ease of Use-
*I had no problems using these contact lenses. They don't have any system to show you whether they are inside-out or not like the Acuvue lenses do. But it's pretty easy to make sure if you're putting in your lenses the right way or not. If you're a beginner, you should add some extra care to this procedure to make sure they are being placed in properly.
-The Verdict-
*The Biocompatibles Proclear prove to be some of the most comfortable contact lenses. However, they are only the most comfortable when the conditions are ideal. When they begin to dry out, they will let you know. If you don't have eye drops or saline, you'll be put through hell. I was also surprised by the severe deterioration of the contact lenses in my eyes. I don't know if they were defective or not, but that definitely was frightening. But if you want the best of comfort and one month of usage rather than two weeks and carry around all the neccessities, then the Biocompatibles Proclear would be pretty good for you. You should give them a try and see whether you like them or not because everyone is different!
