| KMINER's Full Review: Biore Pore Perfect Shine Control Moisturizer |
There are so many skincare products on the market these days, it can all be a little overwhelming. While out on a 3 month leave from work, I ran out of my favorite face moisturizer, and had to realize that I could not spend the $30 or so it cost to replace it - what I could afford was something reasonably priced at my local Walmart. After reading some packaging and looking around at my needs and skin type, I selected a Biore Pore Perfect Shine Control Moisturizer 1.7 fl. oz. bottle for around $7.00.
The packaging stated:
"Dont lose your balance. Biore Shine Control Moisturizers light weight, oil-free formula absorbs quickly and holds the line on shine. Leaves skin velvety-smooth and hydrated; never feels oily. Worn alone or under makeup, Biore Shine Control Moisturizer uses Pore Smarts technology with advanced oil absorbers and a patented ingredient to keep skin light, fresh and healthy-looking."
My previous face moisturizer's main function was to serve as oil control, so I felt this was a "good match" for what I needed. I had no real hopes for this product to work, but I knew I'd be excited if it did.
It exceeded my expectations, and I actually just recently purchased my second bottle!
For my skin (combination with a more oily T zone), this moisturizer works overall quiet well. I noticed a huge decrease overall in oil production and "shiny-ness". I found myself not "touching up" as often, and having more of a "glow" on my skin during the day that I could live with, instead of a real oily center.
The product is really easy to use. It comes in a box you discard - I think mainly because this product does not come with a top/cover! I like how it works though. It's an all green product, with a white "pump" top that you twist one way to "open" and twist back the other way to "close". There are even pictures on the pump to help you remember which way to turn it to get the option you want. It's a white creamy lotion, not runny but not super thick either, and one full pump spreads on easily on my entire face. It has a light smell to it, but more of a "fresh" smell than a florally one. (like a cucumber) It absorbs quickly as well, and works great under foundation. It makes my skin feel soft.
I really have found that the Biore Pore Perfect Shine Control Moisturizer works better than the more expensive moisturizers I had been using before, and it's all I've been wearing for months now during the daytime.
I have found a few concerns though, as this formula is not perfect. First I cannot use this at night, it just isn't moisturizing enough, especially considering I have combination skin. I also notice that at times this product is actually too oil controlling for those drier areas I have. (mainly my outer cheeks, etc) Overall this moisturizer is a pretty good match for my "daytime" skin.
