| girlflesh's Full Review: Biore Pore Perfect Ultra Strip 6 Per Pack |
When Biore first came out, I thought they were brilliant making these little strips. Not only will we have to buy these strips to use every week to get rid of stuff on our nose, we can add this product to our list of skin product we think are "essentials".
Naturally I bought this. I have big pores on my nose, and wondered if this well get rid of the clogged pores.
COMPANY PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Bioré® Ultra deep cleansing nose strips offer maximum pore-cleansing power, instantly removing clogged dirt and oil. With regular use, they also diminish the appearance of pores. Formulated with tea tree oil, the strips leave normal-to-oily pores squeaky clean. You can feel them working as they clean away pore-clogging dirt better than other pore strips. Only Bioré® deep cleansing strips have the Pore Target System that seeks out dirt and pore-clogging material and pulls them out like a magnet. Bioré® Ultra deep cleansing nose strips will leave your pores cleaner and looking smaller when used once per week. Do not use more often than once every three days.
Numerous other skinlines came out with their own versions of the nose strips, and I tried them too, just because some were cheaper. The Biore ones are bigger, but they pretty much work the same and have the same results.
When I used this a few years ago, I was a teenager with mild acne. Sometimes on my nose. I thought the Biore strips would help get rid of that problem on my nose, by declogging pores and getting rid of blackheads.
HOW DID IT WORK?
You've seen the commercials. It works like a "magnet". Well, actually it's a strip with some adhesive glue you attach to your nose by moistening the glue side with water. You leave it on for 15 mins (or until the water dries) than you rip it off slowly. After that, you see all the gross little things that was on your nose on your stip. That's the funnest part because you get to see the results. It does work in that aspect.
HOWEVER...
It does not leave your pores smaller after weeks of use, and it doesn't preven your nose from coming out with the same gross dirt and oil. You have to keep using the stips to get rid of it. It doesn't preven it.
Also, Biore says it is "Dermatologist Tested Hypoallergenic". Well actually, you're not suppose to use it on irritated skin, or skin that has acne.
DO NOT use this on sensitive skin. It does hurt pulling this off, and it will leave your skin red. I actually have oily skin, and it's not too sensitive so it was okay for me, but I could see how it would damage other peoples skin. It hurt for me, so it can't be gentler on someone with sensitive skin. Sometimes, you have to use water to moisten it so you'll have an easier time pulling it off.
OVERALL
I thought the strips were a fun gimmick, but it's not worthwhile to use in the long run. It's a waste of money really. If teens with acne can't use this, than who's really suppose to use it? People with great,non-irritating skin that has the occassional blackhead? Like the models with no skin problems in the ads? Well, it's good that at least they warn you on the box.
The funny thing is that they came out with similar strips that you use on your face, like the forehead and cheeks. I don't recommend you buy into this gimmick.
Instead, I think the best thing you do is to use scrubs a couple of times a week, like St. Ives, or a daily facial scrub that can be used on sensitive skin (Carley's Clear and Smooth on www.no-acne.com).
