Pros: Cleans well, cleans fast, cleans gently! Very pampering
Cons: It's as sticky as tar on a hot summer day, some undesirable chemical ingredients
The Bottom Line: It's fun, it's fast, and it works. It may be sticky, but when you rinse and see your clean and fresh face, you'll be hooked too.

| kleighb's Full Review: Biore Self Heating Cleansing Mask |
Biore Self-Heating Cleansing Mask is a fun-to-use and unique skincare product that turns blue to let you know that it's ready to rinse.
The mask is preported to do the following:
* cleanse deeply
* purify the skin
* open the pores
* absorb excess oil.
I thought it sounded great. And on a whim, I purchased my first box of Biore Self-Heating Cleansing Mask . I wanted to believe the hype, and try out a product that heated up on my face and see if it made a difference in my pesky complexion. It definitely did... and was lots of fun to use, too.
It comes in a little metallic single-serve packet, and comes out tan in color with blue specks. The heating sensation is startling at first, but it warms up nicely as you massage it in to your wet face, and it turns pale blue as the specks are mixed in with the mask's base. It is EXTREMELY STICKY, and I found this to be somewhat disconcerting at first.
You only leave Biore Self-Heating Cleansing Mask on for a minute, and once it turns light blue in color, you rinse it off. It is best to employ a warm washcloth for this purpose, as this sticky mask needs a textured surface to aid in its removal.
I am not in love with the smell of this - I think it would do better with a more herbal, organic smell as opposed to what it is.(can't quite figure out what it does smell like, believe it or not).
Biore Self-Heating Cleansing Mask contains Butylene Glycol, Sodium Silicoaluminate, Kaolin, PEG-8, Methyl Gluceth-20, Hydroxypropylcellulose, Dimethicone, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Talc, Acrylates Copolymer, Polyethylene, BHT, Fragrance, Tetrasodium EDTA, Ultramarines.
As a natural product lover, I am not terribly fond of many of these ingredients. Butylene glycol is a relative of anti-freeze. BHT is a synthetic preservative that is used in dog food. The only natural ingredients in this product are Kaolin (clay) and Talc (a mineral). Other than that, it is synthetic.
But, Biore Self-Heating Cleansing Mask does leaves my skin very silky and soft, helps to moisturize and also reduce oil. It's very balancing, and I use it at least once a week. I take a packet with me when I travel and use it when I have jet lag, or am tired. I just love this stuff, even though it's not all natural. It's rare for me to continue using a synthetic product unless it's really great. I strive to use all natural products, because I am concerned with reducing daily chemical exposure.
This product seemed to be gentle, non-drying, non irritating or abrasive, and overall, very balancing. For these reasons, I feel that this product is good for all skin types.
I also feel this is also a good product for a man to use. It's very gender neutral in scent. My boyfriend used one while on vacation and he got a real kick out of the heat it generated. Men should take better care of their skin, anyway!
This is a product that I'll continue to purchase and use. It's inexpensive, and averages just .83 per use. Right now, it is on sale at drugstore.com for $4.49 per box. Just about any grocery or drugstore will carry this product as well.
I am giving this product a rating of 5 stars, and I do recommend it, despite it's host of synthetic ingredients. I know that for many, natural ingredients simply are not important, so it is only fair that I put myself in someone elses shoes!
