| Freak369's Full Review: Biotest T2 Pro-Thyroid Formula 120 Capsules |
Weight loss products are a billion dollar a year business, that is a fact that no one can deny. Some are designed to latch on to carbohydrates when they enter your system; others burn stored fat for energy. Biotest T2 Pro-Thyroid takes a different approach; it is considered a thermogenic product because it stimulates the thyroid into working harder to increase the way your body processes things. I decided to try this as an alternative to some of the other metabolism enhancing products I was using to see if it worked, if it would be more cost effective and if I could get better results when I stacked it with other products. This wasn't the easiest of products to get my hands on because some merchants flat out refuse to sell it. Why? The FDA and DEA are cracking down on anything that makes a claim to manipulate the thyroid but I do have to add that not all the pressure is on the sports community. Some organizations are making claims that products like this can help with depression, something that hasn't been approved by the FDA. Suffice it to say, if T2 worked as well as purported, there wouldn't be any fat people on the planet.
Biotest T2 Pro-Thyroid Formula
[citrus aurantium, panax seed, salix alba, guarana / paullina cupana, caffeine, kola nut extract, salicins, ginger root]
Biotest is probably most well known for Tribex, Hot Rox and Methoxy but T2 is the one that people always talk about when it comes to increasing metabolism. Before you get too excited about this I have to tell you that it's availability is limited and in some cases it won't be sold in your area due to controversy. The best case scenario is that you find a local sport supplement store that has older stock of it, if you happen to be lucky enough to find it, buy it without thinking twice. So what exactly does this product do? In most people it will stimulate your thyroid into working harder to speed up your metabolism. This isn't something that you should enter into lightly or before you do a good bit of research on what these products can do for you and to you. The fact that they no longer advertise it on their website is an indication that the supplies are going to be limited to what is on hand or in the warehouse. After talking with a few people about this I found out that not only were they being pressured by the FDA but that suppliers of the ingredients were also being lambasted about selling large quantities to places that manufacturer these thyroid enhancing products.
When taken alone it can boost your metabolism but most people will cycle this with other products to maximize the results. If you've ever used other products like this you will know that over a period of time your body can build up a resistance to it if you take the same dose over and over again so you will want to make sure that you vary how much you take to avoid this. The loading dose [starting amount] is one capsule twice a day then you can up it after a two week period to two capsules twice a day preferably with meals. Having already used other thyroid manipulating supplements I knew that my body wouldn't respond to the initial loading dose of one capsule twice a day so I started myself on a stacked amount of 4 3 4 meaning four on Monday, three on Tuesday, four on Wednesday etc. I did not take them with meals but rather on an empty stomach to increase results however I do not suggest this for people who are just getting into body building, fitness or burning fat since this is a pretty strong formulation that can really give you stomach cramps.
This isnt something that you are going to want to take every day, as I mentioned, cycling products like this will keep your body from becoming used to it or building up a tolerance to it. Since this is considered a thermogenic product you will want to make sure that you are consuming more water than normal, this will also help in flushing out toxins that T2 can pull out of your body. Unless you are experienced with other fat burners, stick to the minimum amount until you are sure that you can handle the effects that this could have on you. In some ways this is stronger than prescription drugs like Cytomel and Clenbuterol; mainly because of the cayenne pepper that's added to it. When taken alone the side effects can be an increased body temperature, sweating, slight irritability [from the increased temperature], decreased appetite and loss of sexual appetite. Personally all I experienced from it was sweating but not everyone is the same so the side effect can and will vary from person to person.
What Is Cytomel?
Cytomel is a prescription drug that can raise your metabolism, it's an inexpensive drug that many body builders order from overseas to get cut for a competition, use during training to rid the body of excess retained fat and to produce a faster conversion of consumed foods. This isnt something that you can just walk into a pharmacy and buy [unless you are in Mexico] so products like Biotest's T2 are a great alternative for those who dont wish to be red flagged for taking 'performance enhancing drugs'. The downside to taking Cytomel is that if it isn't cycled correctly your metabolism could get thrown out of whack when you stop taking it. For most this isnt a big concern because a bottle of 60 tablets in Mexico costs under $4.00. The long term effects of using something like Cytomel aren't pretty; your body becomes dependant on it, not that you are addicted to it or you feel the need to take it but your system becomes used to that extra 'kick' and when it doesn't get it, the pounds you shed come creeping back
and they bring along a few friends.
Cytomel Vs. T2
When you compare what each of these can do for you, the T2 comes in on the lower end of things. While it is 100% legal to purchase and consume the results aren't nearly as impressive as Cytomel or Clenbuterol [another fat burner that body builders love]. I threw some of the T2 into my daily cycle to see if this would have any long term effects on my ketosis diet. After a six week cycle I did see some results but had I used something like Cytomel to really increase the amount of work my thyroid was doing outside the gym, I am sure that the results would have been two to three fold. I am not bashing this product but there are a lot of people claiming that this is just as good, if not better, than Cytomel [also called T3] and that just isn't the case. That's like buying packages of ground meat that has a fat content of 70%, 82% and 10%. Sure it's all ground meat but when you toss it on the grill you can see the difference. The same thing goes for the prescription and non-prescription thyroid enhancers; they both do the same job but the prescription drugs are 'cleaner' [have less actual ingredients] and so a specific thing coax the metabolism to work harder.
Cost
If you are going to try and track this down be aware that there are other companies that make T2 products so always make sure that you are getting the Biotest brand. This isn't something that Biotest is selling at their website so you are going to have to go to other sites to get it. A bottle of 120 capsules can run you anywhere from $30.00 to $50.00 depending on how much the site or store has left in stock. The same thing happened when the original form of Stacker 2 [with ephedrine] was pulled out of production; people went crazy and starting buying everything they could get their hands on. I wouldn't spend more than $50.00 on a bottle unless it was the original formulation that was about 25% stronger than this one [that's the difference between T2 and T2 Pro-Thyroid].
The Bottom Line
You can pretty much guarantee that if a product works and is the least bit controversial, the FDA and DEA will put it on their watch list and try to have it removed from shelves. Yes there are some serious side effects to abusing a product like this but that can be said about anything in life; drive too fast and you can wreck, eat too much and you can become obese, drink too much and ruin your liver. On the same token, people that obey the speed limit are in accidents, food poisoning happens and liver failure can happen for any number of reasons. The point I am try to get at here is pretty simple; watchdog groups see that something has potential benefits and automatically assume that the claims are felonious. Like the doctor that is 80 and refuses to upgrade his equipment
the FDA and DEA refuse to see the benefits that this product has [at this stage in the game I should probably start putting things in past tense] for people trying to lose weight or increase their metabolism. But that seems to be the norm these days. Chris Rock put it best when he said, "there ain't no money in the cure" and truer words were never spoken.
As always, thanks for the visit
