Pros: MADE IN THE USA
Cons: NONE NOTED
Note: graphic is a tad misleading, the details indicate the review is to be done for the kob, however, with the bungee showing it might be thought that the bungee is part of the kob product, they are separate products. It is not necessary to purchase the bungee in order to use the kob.
Birdola's Squirrel Kob Big Ol Kob Wild Birds is a product blend created of Ardillo delights including black oil sunflower seeds, corn, peanut and gelatin; providing equivalent to 8 cobs of corn and weighing nearly 2.5 pounds.
This particular kob is designed for use with the Birdola Kob holder, Squirrel Kob spike, bungee or will fit most brand spike feeders.
The Birdola Squirola Kob Bar is a top blend of squirrel feed much prized by the hungry critters, including that small red rascal in our yard. Though crafted to perfectly fit the Birdola Squirola Kob Bar Feeder, this seed Kob bar comes with a plastic eye at the top, allowing it to hang it from a wire, bungee or squirrel feeder for added adaptability and feeding adventures.
I find it impossible to keep Ardillo out of our bird feeders. As with his cat cousins who claim everything seen; everything the squirrel sees belongs to the squirrel.
Birdola suggests that consumers, -try positioning a few Kob Bars around the birding sanctuary to lure away and satisfy the hungry squirrels by offering a new treat to squirrels - Charming theory, impractical as all get out, but charming. Guess Ardillo must have missed that page in the How-to book. As do his cat cousins, everything in this yard belongs to the little red squirrel.
-Offering squirrels their own feeding station may keep them from pilfering the bird seed, and allow homeowners to enjoy more wildlife in the garden-. Operative word in the advertisement is may; it just doesn't happen in this yard.
Ardillo will happily share his squirrely food, and will nibble alongside birds as they enjoy their own. However leave the one alone and dine only on the other. NOT.
They all have worked out a workable agreement it seems between feathered and furred. The only problem area is when Rosie also wants to join them for dinner. A snake in the area brings screams from Ardillo, birds and everyone else who notices her.

Internet search including the Birdola site indicates: It was 1988 when Birdola® Products decided there had to be a better way to feed wild birds.
At that time Birdola® Products presented the same problems encountered by most wild bird feeders; a 50-pound bag of seed tore when being placed in the shopping cart. That rip was repaired, it ripped again in the car causing seeds to spill in the car, in the yard as the feeder was being filled and, in the garage where the seed was being transferred to a container to protect them from seed eating small critters.
On top of all those problems; the existing feeder allowed six birds to feed at a time despite the feeder being surrounded by a larger flock.
Birdola® Products began experimenting with methods for creating a block of seeds that would permit access to more seeds for more birds at a sitting.
Holding seeds in a block was the first problem; molasses attracted flies, natural liquid protein works well for a seed binder. It holds the seeds together, yet, birds are able to peck away their favorite seed. Because it is natural protein, it is healthy for birds.
As our business as the originator of the cake-feeding system grew, Birdola® Products expanded the product line to include squirrel feed Squirola®, a mix especially for finches and smaller songbirds Black GoldTM, and today includes Safflower, Sunflower, Fruit & Nut and Woodpecker cakes, as well as KOB and Big Ol' KOB for squirrels.
Birdola® Products' patented wire feeder has perches for birds needing them as well as allowing clingers area for hanging onto the wire anywhere on the feeder. An added plus: Bird waste falls to the ground not on the seed. Because premium seeds are used, there are fewer unwanted seeds left on the ground under the feeder as is often the case when using cheaper mixes that birds will kick away.
To reflect changes in ingredients including, vitamins, minerals and electrolytes to make Birdola® a more complete meal for wild birds, Birdola®, became Birdola®PlusTM. Birdola® Products continues to be a leader by constantly creating innovative and healthy products for wildlife.
Birdola now offers hummingbird nectar in environmentally-friendly pouches, and premium bulk seed mixes with unique additives, in lay-down bags and stand up pouches. A recent innovation is the Stacker cake feeding system which allows offering several different blends at once to attract the widest variety of wild birds.
Birdola®PlusTM can be found in many fine national retail chains, as well as Home and Garden Centers, Hardware big box stores, as well as pet and wild bird stores and may be available in the local grocery store as well as a long list of independent retailers.
